Getting any kind of schedule before November is going to be tough. You can pretty much count on ABC Family's 25 Days of Christmas, but I didn't think much of it last year. Too much new stuff and things completely unrelated to Christmas, not enough classics. You're best bet seems to be to start collecting the DVDs.

The best thing I have found is Tivo!!! You can actually program it to search out programs whose name has Christmas in it, or whose discription has Christmas in it and then it will either tape them automatically or you can decide which ones you want and record them. If Tivo is not an option, you can go to MSN's TV area and it will give you the option of finding your cable system and then you can search using Christmas as a key word. Most of what you see this time of year is episodic television and the usual Christmas episode most shows do. Occasionally you'll see a lifetime movie or something during the year but they are few an far between. Also, during late June and into July, you may see some Christmas movies beinig played. The whole world seems to have some interest in Christmas in July!!! Good luck!

Well, if you have DirecTV or Dish, you might find them in the program guides. (I have the DirecTV guides for Nov. and Dec. 1998, and they managed to give out the schedules for their holiday specials at that time.)

There is a way to find out if there are any Christmas themed shows on tv. There is a website called Zap2it.com Its a free website.

First you will have to enter your zip code. Then from there choose your tv provider. Then there is an advanced search to click on. Then there is a drop down menu. I choose description and then enter Christmas in the search blank and hit enter. There should be a listing of Christmas shows on tv in your area. You can double check the tv listing grid for that day and date. Good luck everyone!

P.S. I do this on a regular basis

Thanks SW1Dennis, I am going to write that down so when it gets Christmastime I can use it. No matter how much I plan, I always seem to miss some Christmas programs I want to see. This way will be a big help!

P.S. I, too, have been very disappointed in ABC Family's 25 Days of Christmas the last few years. They have moved away from what made it so great and popular. IMO :(

Thanks SW1Dennis - I just tried it out! Though it doesn't show any Christmas specials for us until July 24th, it's good to know that search engine is available! I'll bookmark it & use it in the future!
