Elliot Yamin, second runner-up in the fifth season of American Idol and one of the strongest vocalists to come out of the franchise, is currently on tour to support his new album which has been greeted with rave reviews. He has also landed a deal with Target, with which he will be recording a Christmas album in July.

Elliot’s version of “blue-eyed soul” is smooth, note perfect, with the phrasing and timing of a seasoned jazz veteran, an all around solid talent!

My wife really likes him, too. I think he's ok. Not sure if I'd recognize him on the radio or anything.

Exactly right! Deaf in one ear! Also has Diabetes and has for most of his life. During his stay on American Idol, he never missed a note. Not one! He didin't have the stage presents of Taylor Hicks, or the Beauty of Katherine McPhee but he was really solid, really good! I'm not sure why the Idol franchise is so enamored with the Christmas music genre', but we all benefit from it! Our love of Christmas music is catching...More and more people are recognizing that Christmas music ain't just for Christmas anymore!!!

Yep, I think AI is probably the only thing going in the music industry that is growing sales.

While I watch AI I'm yet to buy an album or do a download. I really enjoyed Elliot's humility and occasionally he sang something that I thought was catchy. I enjoyed Taylor alot but, as his album sales show, I think people liked him for his live performance abilities and not necessarily his voice. I never did "get" Catherine. And as for the 2007 crop of AI performers...a big yawn from me.

The people from American Idol that I've enjoyed the most are...in this order...
Eliot Yamin
Carrie Underwood
Chris Daughtry
Kelly Clarkson

I had high hopes for Taylor Hicks...liked him on the show....but I didn't really like his album at all. IMHO....mediocre just doesn't cut it for me...and that's what it was.
