Does anyone know what the tv line up for ABC Family is? They usually do a 25 days of xmas count down. Or what are some other good channels to check for christmas movies?

I have emailed ABC and will let everyone know what they tell me. I, too, am looking forward to the holiday classics as well as some new specials.

I've got that one on my PC at work. It usually draws a crowd. Everybody sings the snow miser song, but no one really knows all the words, so there's lots of humming!

I must admit to knowing most of the words for this one...nobody laugh. Christmas lyrics stick in my head for some reason...always have. I take some ribbing about it, too. LOL

I know this is a old topic, however, you know me, I like to go back and read old coversations. I love 25 days on ABC Family. Other good TV stations are the Hallmark Channel, and TBS. I know this is about TV, but Im going to throw in a little radio. 103.7 lite FM (locally 103.7) I emailed them on Friday June 2 (Yes I know thats early, but thats when stores start making Christmas adds & banners, so I thought I'd ask.). This is the reply I got "You can count on The New 103.7 lite fm to be your Christmas station. We will be playing continuous Christmas music. We have not yet determined on which day we will start this. Thanks for listening to The New 103.7 lite fm." Anyway, I know it's only the 21st of August but I am so ready for the season to start... Well realy in my family the season starts the week of Thanksgiving. Our music stations on TV start playing Christmas music November 1. Anyway thanks for letting me ramble. If you can't wait for Christmas feel free to type out a rambling reply, I know I will enjoy it.

Have you visited Christmas Radio on this site? Check it out via the home page or go here: http://www.merrychristmasradio.com/ Another good option is Live365. Here is a link to their Christmas section: http://www.live365.com/cgi-bin/directory.cgi?searchdesc=Christmas
Happy listening!

I like it already. I'm listening to the Three Stooges singing All I Want for Christmas. It doesn't get much better than that! Thanks.

If you guys haven't tried out casey's link above, give it a go. Some really great stuff on there. You can select a song and hear several renditions of it or you can select a singer and hear all their selections. Good listening, I'll tell you.

I think you guys will enjoy my Christmas TV schedule posts. For the past several years, I have been posting a daily updated Christmas TV schedule on my forum, and I'll be sharing it here this year. It is very comprehensive, and includes just about every Christmas show on every channel. Let it be your one-stop-shop for finding out when Christmas shows will be on.
A little preview of this year's (2006) "25 Days of Christmas":
The basic cable television premiere of The Polar Express will occur during ABC Family's ninth annual "25 Days of Christmas," December 1-25, programming event. Based on the classic children's book by Chris Van Allsburg, directed by Robert Zemeckis, with all leading characters voiced by Tom Hanks, The Polar Express tells the story of a young boy who is beginning to doubt the existence of Santa Claus. Led by a mysterious train conductor (also Tom Hanks), the boy is whisked away on an adventure filled train ride to the North Pole to be shown the wonder of Christmas. The broadcast television premiere of the movie will be on the ABC Television Network.

89 months? You're TOO excited! I hope you'll remind us when you start listing those shows. I hope to have cable by then and and can see some that I miss every year, like 24 hours straight of A Christmas Story.

Oops, I meant days! Yes, it will be well known when the schedule is available. Maybe Jeff will let it be a sticky in this very forum. I usually start mid-November, when Thanksgiving and Christmas shows start playing.

I think Jeff did mention putting a Christmas movie list together. I'd really like to know what's out there. I have my ones that are traditional for me but I'm always on the look out for other gems.

well let me put this here for Jeff so he can read it & see what he thinks:
what if we put up a post for christmas movies, people add ones they know of & we just edit & add to the list when we can

That sounds good to me. I'd really like to know what else is out there.

so if Jeff says its cool I'll put up my list somewhere, if anybody knows something else they can add it, anybody on the forum can participate & we can just make an all encompassing list, Which is something I've always wanted
