mrfrosty87~ I do the same thing. That is the most relaxing thing I ever do. One day I plan on having a room where I can keep a tree up all the time for relaxing purposes.:tree:

I do the same thing too! Isn't that the greatest?? I especially like it late at night when the house is really quiet & everyone is sleeping! I do keep my Buckeye (OSU) tree up all year round in our basement. Though the lights are only clear & red (unlike my multi lights on the main tree) it's still very relaxing & peaceful to sit by!

We may actually be moving into a house at some point, this year....not definite, but if we do, that would be a great place to start some new traditions. Christmas, holds nothing but the very best memories for me, no matter where I've lived and I'd love to start making memories in the house, but if this house doesn't work out, I'll continue having wonderful memories in this apartment.

I like to sit in the dark with the Christmas tree on too! With some hot chocolate and Christmas music playing softly reminiscing about Christmas' of the past.

Good luck on your move and enjoy the snow, I envy you. There's nothing like Christmas Snow. I usually put up two trees and keep the lights on all night long. Not only is it a night light, but very relaxing. I start playing Christmas music the minute Thanksgiving dinner is done. One tree usually has Santa Claus heads on it with clear lights, the other is a white tree. On that tree I have tried pastel (pink/green) and the usual stand by red and white. This year on the white tree, I'm going to be doing black and silver. The upside down tree is in our game/pub room, decorated with margarita glasses, champagne flutes, wine glasses and a Captain Morgan neon light is the tree topper. But I always have one other tree up and that one is in my scrapbook room and that one is purple. I hate to say this, but I'm usually done with my Christmas shopping by August so I can enjoy the holiday that much more. But this year I have slacked off. At least my Christmas cards are made and ready to go. One less thing to do.

SnowMaiden, I am excited about getting into the house, too. My health is bad and our landlord just raised the rent $100 and living on a very fixed income, now, that smarts. I think Dad began looking for a house to buy, to help us out and to give him some company, too. Dad's already said he knows we will be decorating the house like mad for Christmas and he's all for it.
I never thought at 42, I;d be in the state I am, no longer able to work and having been forced to go through my life savings and 401k, while awaiting my disability approval, but thank God for family and friends, with their support and help, life is good.
We began having a Christmas Eve get together at our apartment a couple of years ago and would like to continue that tradition, this year, including Dad, of course.
I've seen a lot of folks mention putting on the tree lights and relaxing to Christmas tunes....I do that all the time, too, a bonus is if it snows during the day and I can enjoy that along with the twinking lights and music.

Head Elf, Christmas shopping is one of the things I enjoy a about Christmas. I couldn't imagine finishing shopping in August. I don't even begin shopping until September at the earliest.
