Because at the end of that day signals the start of christmas season in at least my eyes. Heck even after halloween i start getting all excited about going to walmart and looking at all there christmas stuff they start getting out. Which should be in about 1 month i suppose christmas stuff will be displayed again. Anyways like i said in one of my other posts. It's so hot out here today. Dang near 100 degrees for a high again. Summer is my least favorite time of the year. I like winter the best. But i cant' wait till fall and till thanksgiving.

After a big meal. We start putting up our trees in the home. It is my official start for decorating. My mental start is right after halloween. :tree:

Chillywilly you have the same idea i have. This year me and my wife finally bought are own house. I plan on taking full advantage of it. Wanting to go nuts with decorations like the big christmas ball things you can put in your yard and lights up all over the house. And maybe a santa on top of the roof waiving, and candy canes by are sidewalk and lights up on the house and windows, and a christmas wreath on are door. Just getting all sorts of ideas. My job allows a person to work alot of overtime so hopefully i'll have all the money to get these things.

I love Thanksgiving too. The whole month of November is the Christmas Season for me, though. I love the last 3 months of the year(Oct., Nov., Dec).

I love Thanksgiving as well. The food, the family, the fun! Also, we've turned Thanksgiving into a Christmas celebration with my step-daughter each year, so it's that much more fun!
See, my DH is supposed to have his daughter every other holiday, however, his ex is a master at crafting reasons why we can't have my step-daughter at Christmas, from dying relatives (who always seem to be "dying" at Christmas but always seem to effect a miraculous recovery somewhere around Jan. 1) to visiting relatives to fears of "bad winter weather"...we've heard it all.
We used to get upset about it but that just put my step-daughter in the middle with regard to the Christmas holidays and we didn't want to put her in that position so, we decided to celebrate Christmas at Thanksgiving with her.
We celebrate Thanksgiving as "normal" but the Saturday after Thanksgiving is Christmas! Step-daughter gets to pick out our Christmas menu (last year we had tacos), we bake Christmas cookies, watch Christmas movies, drive around looking at Christmas lights and, of course, open gifts.
So, Thanksgiving really is the start of Christmas for our family!! :tree:

I love Thanksgiving. It is a great time to get with family members and close friends to eat and discuss the Biggest Holiday of all Christmas. It is also the day that I start playing Christmas Music for everyone thru out the house. :carve:
