I was in a bad mood earlier today for no reason. I came to this site. And remembered my favorite christmas CD of all time was sitting right below the computer. IT's called christmas serenity. IT's classical christmas music. I fell in love with the Silent night on there 2 years ago when i got it. Right now i'm listening to the first noel. And i am in such a peaceful and righteous mood right now. It's been like 10 months since i listened to this cd. THis ever happen to anyone?

LOL I play some Music at night when everyone is in bed. So they are not sick of it by the time it gets here.. I found some unopened boxes of lights I forgot about shoved in the back of the bedroom closet, It made me happy to open them up! They needed to be "tested" lol

Shhhhhhh ! It's a secret. Don't tell anyone, but I have a set of Christmas CDs in my car, and when I'm on the way home after a particularly rough day I play some of my favorites. It makes me feel GREAT. As we all know, you never really get tired of Christmas music.

This has definitely happened to me. Christmas is my "happy place" So, when I'm feeling bad, sad or just plain put out with the world, Christmas music/movies/or even just visiting here will usually put me in a much better frame of mind.

We're supposed to have one more day of low 90's, then 80s for the rest of the week. That's still pretty warm, but just knowing the the heat is on its way out puts me in a Christmas mood. Today I lit some candles, listened to my Johnny Tillotson Christmas CD, then watched Christmas With the Kranks.

Well, my post is done. I agree with all the above.
Billy - I hide them in the back of the CD book (holder). That way if I'm in the car and need them . . . . . You know . . . . . for that emergency fix.
stillsnowberry - Johnny Tillotson? The Christmas Touch? I have a little of many artists, but I don't have that one. Really good ???
Our weather here is still hot during the day, but really cool at night. A sure sign that summer is ending . . . . . I hope.
All this talk of Christmas music . . . . I need a fix now.

It has more recently been coming out that I am addicted to Christmas. I have found myself constantly bring up Christmas. Nobody has said anything so maybe it isn't that obvious. I keep my Christmas CD's and movies mixed in with the other non-Christmas ones. If anybody brings it up I just say I was too lazy to move them.

Billy - My movies on the other hand, are somewhat organized. The Christmas movies are on the top shelf off to the right (in a corner). That way I can slip one out from time to time and no one seems to notice. I have got to add to my Christmas section. It's the smallest section by far.
I do have a few "yule log" of fireplace tapes (discs). My wife recorded a show called "The Yule Log" for me on year that I was working on Christmas. It was just a fire place, with an occasional shot of a tree or wreath, then back to the fire place. All this with a suitable array of Christmas carols in the background. I was quite surprised when I came home at midnight (25th) and found a fireplace on TV (we have no real fireplace), and the kids up to greet me. It was a late, but very nice Christmas that year. You'd be surprised how many family members ask to borrow that tape, as silly as it might seem. I had to make copies so I wouldn't wear out the original.
Wow, that's more that I've said all month in the count down forum. Well it's 0005hrs here in Chicago, and I have a few more posts to do. So, I'll bid everyone a great day.

I have a dvd like this! I can't remember what it's called (I'll have to look when I get home) but it's just a fireplace burning & continuous Christmas music! Last year between Christmas & New Years we had my family over on a Saturday night for a cookout. We ate in our basement (our basement if fixed up) & I had the fireplace dvd playing on our big screen tv. It was so awesome! Everyone commented on it. It felt so cozy!

Yeah, I get a lot of laughs too, but later on people ask for a copy, or where they can buy it.
The tapes my wife got off local TV. It was simocast (I know I misspelled it) on local radio. It was great to have all the tv sets and radios in the house tuned so you got the same fireplace and music in all the rooms. My guests were amazed. No one laughed that year. The tv station broadcast the yule log for 4 years, I think, then it was gone. The years I was off work, I recorded it. I had to dub it to disc just so it wouldn't wear out.
I bought an over-the-counter version called: "Fireplace" - "Visions of Tranquility"
It has both music (seasonal and regular), and natural fire sounds.
I'd really like to know the titles of what you both (or anyone else) has. The snowfall dvd sounds interesting too.

I have a yule log DVD and it's okay, but can't hold a candle to the WPIX yule log. I DVR'd all three hours last Christmas, then my DVR went crazy and they sent me a new one, so I lost the yule log. I'm sure they'll show it again this Christmas, but I'd like to start watching it earlier. sigh. This time I'm going to switch it over to a dvd, so it'll be safe.

Yes It's Christmas Touch. I actually had the record album back in the early 70's. The cd has one extra song called Pretty Papers. It's my least favorite of the songs on the cd. Probably because it wasn't on the album and I'm sentimental.

I did it because of the fireplace but I also wanted to try the other stuff as well.
So I will get: a fireplace, a laundry dryer, a 70īlava lamp, a fish that never stops swimming around, a beach scene, a winter snow scene, Valentine hearts, fire works, autumn leaves and even a New yearīs Eve countdown, along with some other silly stuff.
Canīt wait.

Icequeen - Let me know how you like "Fun View TV - Volume 1: Fireplace, Fish, Snow & More".
Head Elf - If Mrs.Eagle caught me listening to Christmas Music and dancing around the living room, at this time of the year, she'd call the men in the white suits for me. The only time I can watch Christmas videos or listen to Christmas music (out of season), is when everyone is at work or school. I work nights, so I'm home in the mornings.
Holiday - They just arrived today, I'll let you (and everyone else) know.

Billy B - I think that in their hearts, deep down, most people do understand. Society tells us that Christmas MUST only be observed during a certain time of the year. But most people wish the spirit would continue. We know it does, at least here. What movie did someone say - . . . . " for a few hours a year we are the people we always hoped we would be " ???? Where is DVD Guy when I need him?
I played "The Yule Log". The fireplace is very, very nice. The songs are OK. But no natural woodburning (crackling) sounds, at least none that I can find. It also dosen't seem to loop. Overall a nice addition to my collection.
DVD Guy - What's the name of that snowfall video you have ?
Holiday

You know - I guess I never thought about the video not having crackling sounds b/c of the music. It would be nice if it had crackling, wouldn't it? Hmmmm!
