Sam the snowman (Burl) from Rudolph
The Grinch, Max and Cindy Lou Who (I can do her voice and Boris Karloff's -would love to have giant sized wide mouth puppets of those characters.
Snoopy and Linus
Garfield and Odie
Kermit the Frog (from a Muppet's Christmas Carol)
Santa from the animated T'was the Night Before Christmas
Mr. Magoo as Mr. Scrooge

:rudolph: I agree the list could go on and on.

:rudolph:Modesty prevents me from including any of MY characters from my Cool Yule Comics site (not MUCH modesty, mind you, but some slight kernal of humility...) cheesy

So, I'll have to go with that polka dotted elephant from the Island of Misfit Toys...

Followed closely by Mister Magoo as Scrooge.

cheesy I'm guessing by this time next year, someone will adopt one of your Christmas characters as their favourites, George.

Did you know his first name was Quincy - yup Mr. Quincy Magoo.
Here’s a little something for you, “All Alone in the World” from Mr. Magoo’s Christmas Carol
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b7qOFB4IXA8

I clearly remember him meeting up with Frankenstein, doing his William Tell bit, going to the Beach, etc.

Yea...that kid is ME! I love Charlie Brown!

My Favorite is the ice warlock on Santa is comin to town, the one with the meister-burger-burgermeister and here is my reason, my 18 year old son was killed almost 6 years ago, and whenever I would start to cry that darn song would run thru my mind the one that says "just put one foot in front of the other and soon you'l be walking out the door" then I would have to explain why I was smiling cheesy
and it made them laugh too, and I am all about laughing.:)

:rudolph:Thanks, Auntie Dear... that's the hope, anyway... yes, based on the success of Christmas Carol and the follow-up Mister Magoo's Arabian Nights (where he played Aladdin), Magoo was spun off into a Saturday morning series called "The Literary Adventures of Mister Magoo" where he starred as famous characters from literature... he was Dr. Frankenstein, Dr. Watson in a Shelock Holmes story, Cyrano DeBergerac and Gunga Din... in fact, that one blew my mind as a six year old watching it because Magoo as Gunga (like in the Kipling original) dies at the end... I had never seen a beloved cartoon character DIE before! Sure, drop anvils on their heads or blow them up with dynamite (from which they always recovered by the next scene)... but none of my cartoon friends had ever died and stayed dead before! It scared me.

[COLOR="Red"]I'm sorry about your son. That's a great song! I have it on my computer and I was playing it Friday at the office and telling everybody, "That's our theme song" because we've bounced back from financial shortcomings over and over again. .COLOR]

I am not knocking your answer....
But...
I thought the same thing myself at first....
Than re read and thought about the "character" part.
I don't see Jesus as a character, but as the actual representation of the season.
I see a character as something fun - and fictional.

Just throwing that out there.
=)

My favorite character must be :rudolph:. He´s just so friggin cute...and I like the story behind it. The dentist elf rocks, too....But Rudolph is on top, since I saw that elf the first time last year...at the age of 26...never knew that great movie....just the regular cartoon and I like this version much better. My two year old daughter loves Rudolph as well...she doesn´t watch children´s television a lot, but she watches Rudolph...she calls him Dodo for whatever reason...another point why Rudolph is my fave....but boy it took some time until I found out why she says Dodo.
