Okay.
Now when you think about Thanksgiving...
You have to think about Black Friday..
The day after Thanksgiving & the wildest shopping
day of the year!
It's also the first official Christmas shopping day.
So,
1. where do you shop at on Black Friday?
2. are you a Black Friday person or Cyber Monday person?
3. do you have some Black Friday stories from previous years?
4. how early do you go out for Black Friday?
Well here are my answers to these questions.
1. Walmart, Target, JcPenney, Macy's, Mall, etc...
2. BLACK FRIDAY PERSON EVERY YEAR!
3. Well back in 04', I was 15 years old and it was my first black friday & I remember going to Walmart and how crazy people acted! It was insane!
4. The earliest I've gotten up for Black Friday is 1am, I know that's considered late to some people! lol! But for the last 2 years, I've gotten up at 2am.

I try not to shop on Black Friday, although a couple years ago I went to Target in the evening and it wasn't bad at all. Of course they were out of all the really big deals, but they still had what I came for... though I can't remember what that was now.

I never go shopping on "Black Friday". It's not worth all the stress.

I work on Black Friday -- but I'm always out in it. Last year I started before midnight at a local mall (near riot conditions) and worked until about 8pm Friday night. Brutal.

To Billy Battles:
Cyber Monday is the monday after the weekend post-"Black Friday". It's a day for people who aren't black friday shoppers to shop online and find great sales.
I try to avoid ALL stores on Black Friday. I've never been a big fan of that day. I look for bargains all year long. On Black Friday, I start baking Christmas cookies.

Black Friday means turkey sandwiches to me. I like them better than the dinner.

My wife and children and other family members get together on Thanksgiving day and plan on what stores and places to go. We start off by going to the Starbuck store for coffee to get going. After that is is a blurrrrr!!!! and fun just watch all of the people out early that morning! Lots of fun.

I'll agree with that...it is a superior people-watching event. This was the scene at a local mall last year at 12:01am when Black Friday kicked off here. 9 people were arrested, there was one broken leg and countless bloody noses:

I have made purchases on Black Friday. But instead of going for the sexy things like laptops and flat panel TVs I'll look for coats for the kids at half off or something like that.

The tech section on Black Friday is always a dangerous place to be.

My family and I have gone out to Black Friday's for about 11 years now! It has always been an exciting time. I think it depends on they are you are in as well. We always meet interesting people and have a good time drinking Starbuck's coffee and talking to the Black Friday people that we meet. Fun! Fun! Fun!

I like to go out on Black Friday, but just to browse. It's fun to see the hustle and bustle, but I'd rather not partake in the shopping aspect of it.

Wow!
Those are some crazy Black Friday stories! LOL.
I can't wait until Black Friday this year!!!
And Chilly Willy is right.
It is fun, fun, fun!
Plus, I didn't know Starbucks open that early on Black Friday! Cool! I'm going to get me some this year!

Not a fan of Black Friday. If I want something that bad, I will go and buy it. Lately it's getting to the point that the items offered are junk.
Last black Friday, Best Buy had flat panel tv's. Most made by Westinghouse. Oh, the horror stories. No thanks.
Don't forget, the rude and crude people out there. All to save a few bucks. Are people that poor these days? So what, you save 100 bux. What did you have to do to save that? Loose 8 hours of your life sitting in a line camped out in the freezing cold/rain/snow? Pfft. I will be nobodys puppet!
I/We order online. Fast, simple, easy. Delivered right to your door and you don't even have to put on clothes! cheesy

For some people, it is kind of like a sporting event -- a competition. For others, it is just good quality time together. I remember a Thanksgiving where family sat around the table after dinner strategizing -- it was a hoot to listen to. I don't blame people for doing it. It's just not for me.

i hate black friday ... when i worked over at bestbuy it was hectic people were so rude screaming at you calling you names JUST so they can get that deal... plus i worked like a 14hr shift that day and they said you can't call off that day or you're fired even if you're sick i was pretty dumbfounded...
thank god i work at a desk this year more time with my family

I have been out a few times for Black Friday. Not recently though. I have a young son so I dont think I will be going out for the next few years. I guess if there was a really good deal on something I really wanted I would send my Mom or Husband out..although my Husband wouldnt be very happy haha

3. I don't but my mom has some great ones....a lady at Best Buy that was trying to beat people with her purse and it got so crowded her arm got stuck strait up in the air.
4. I have been out with mom as early as 4am. Yuck!

I usually work retail over the holiday season. So you're one of those people waiting in line for the mall doors to open.

I have been a black friday shopper for the past years. The stores we shop that day will depend on their sales. This year I will only be able to stop at 1 or 2 stores since I have to work.
