View Full Version : Tree Smell/Scent - Where To Get Some?

We used to be die hard LIVE tree people. Until the past two years. We purchased artificial trees. However, the only thing I really do miss, is the smell.
Where would one find tree smells in a bottle? Or any Christmas time smells? I mainly want that good tree smell. Open to suggestions or ideas.
I have been thinking of fragrance oils as an option since there are quite a few vendors around, however I have never tried them and don't want to get stuck buying junk. So, if anyone has tried some, please let me know!

last year I found a Yankee candles that was the closest I have come to the smell of a tree. I can't remember the name now, but it was a dark green candle in a jar. I will try to post the name of it, when I get my candles out for Christmas,,,,,,,,,which will be early for sure.

I think I found the candle you are talking about. It's called Balsam and Cedar. It has a picture of a tree with pine cones on the front. I have plans on purchasing some along with Christmas Cookie on ebay to check them out. Maybe some tarts and candles or whatever combo I can come up with.
Appreciate the info. I just don't want to use candles because we have cats that love to snoop. So I think it will be fine with a hot plate.

you can get an essential oil to put on your tree or in potpouri called "Christmas Spirit" from Young Living Essential Oils.

Does it smell like a Christmas tree? I just don't want to buy these products blind and not like it. 20 bux is a bit spendy for oil, but if it's what I want, then that price is null :)
There is not a "trial" size :(

As far as I know it smells like a Christmas Tree. It has orange, cinnamon and spruce oils combined. Or they have just a pine scent or a spruce scent. I've heard good things about the Christmas Spirit.

:hello: I know quite a few people who enjoy the scent of making their own potpourie with Christmas scents.
:tree: Myself, anytime I want to smell pine trees, I grab a roll of Scotch tape. It makes me think of Christmas every time. I'm happy to report that I haven't been banned from any stores that carry it yet, but I do get some strange looks when I'm caught smelling it in store aisles.

The one I have that smells exactly like a Christmas tree is Yankee's Christmas Wreath. I used to burn it in my office and people thought my tree was real.

LOL! It's nice to know that I am not the only who does this.

Well, I bought 2 - 22oz candles of that scent and 6 christmas cookie tarts, along with 6 pumpkin spice tarts for halloween/thanksgiving.
Now the trick is to find a tart heater that is electric.

Yes, thank you. I did a google search after my post and found that site. I think I should be good to go after they answer my email. Want to make sure their candle warmers will handly the Yankee 22oz jars.

Ok, I found out on the web that linens n things had some candle warmers for only 5.99. So I decided to stop in there today to pick up 4 and test them out.
While I was in there, I noticed they started puting out Christmas decorations and candles. Also some Halloween/Thanksgiving candles and items. I checked out the Christmas candles and picked up the following tarts..
Christmas Wreath
Mistletoe
Christmas Cookie
Boo-Nilla
I have to say, everyone is delightful. Christmas Wreath is the smell I have been looking for. It literally smells like a Christmas tree! Tell you what, if I ever win the lottery I will attempt to buy Yankee Candle! Lol. They have a scent for everything!
Right now I have a 20oz candle on the warmer I bought to see how well it works. Worse case scenario, I will crack open the glass jars and chop up the wax and put them in a pyres bowl on the warmer instead.

I bought a few Yankee's Christmas Wreath candles and keep them under the Bar in the basement. Out of sight of most people, but right where I like them when I need to smell a Christmas tree.

I agree - Yankee's Christmas Wreath is just about the best!!! My candle lady makes one called Christmas Tree that is my favorite though - especially when burned along with Yankee's Hollyberry!! Oh, I can't wait to get my Christmas candles out!!! :-D

My "Just Cut" spray bottle smells just arrived. No offense to anyone here, but they don't smell like trees. It smells like dog shampoo that has been applied to the dog. Lol.
Sorry. I think the best smell so far, is Yankee Candle Christmas Wreath.

I have found that at A.C. Moore, they have wonderful scent packets--this time of year they have the apple cinnamon, pine tree and orange spice...they are just little envelopes for a great price, that smell wonderfull and last for months!!
I use an artificial tree now becuz I have kids, and a dog who things she;s a bull, But I find myself missing the smell of a real tree also, so heres what I do!
I put one of those smell packets right on the tree, tuck it right in there in the middle (u cant really see it becuz of the tinsel and ornaments) and its so brings back the memories of a real tree!!!:tree:
