I have plans on purchasing about 7 50led UV/Purple light strips. My question is - do you all think this type of light will hurt animals eyes? Cats, birds, dogs?

I would not think so, but I am curious!

Thanks!

Nah, you should be just fine. In a quick check around the net, I've found a couple of websites that caution against staring into an LED blacklight because the intensity of the brightness of the bulb could be harmful (same reason you don't stare directly at the sun), but nothing that indicates that it's really dangerous for or harmful to people or pets.

Thank you. I did get my strip in today, however it is pretty much destroyed. UPS managed to bend this really thick, heavy duty strip, inside another heavy duty plastic case - IN HALF. It's so bad, you can not remove the strip from it's case. I plugged it in and only half the leds light up. Very sad.

Got a new one coming tho.
