The stores around here have their Halloween and Thanksgiving items out. Some even have a few Christmas items. They are also moving toys around to make room for the new stock. It is so great!

I saw the first Christmas stock in Penny's today :)
I almost bought a big blackboard which has "_ days till Xmas" on it, but then I remembered I have a similar one at home...

Dh and I went to Hobby Lobby over the weekend and Christmas was busting out all over in there...we even bought a new ornament for our tree this year.
It's a glass, hinged ornament that opens to put a small gift inside. Normally, we would have purchased a new ornament on vacation (it's one of our longest standing traditions...then, when we put up our tree, nearly every ornament tells a story about where we've been and what we've done...it's great fun)but since our vacation got cancelled this year (due to Dh's injury/surgeries), DH said we should put a band-aid in the ornament as our memory of this year. :-? I think he's nuts! First, there's no way that I'm going to be needing anything to remind me of this year and second, since it was his refusal to seek prompt medical attention that ultimately resulted in his need for surgery which led to the cancellation of our vacation...well, I'd just suggest that he fill that ornament with a nice new piece of jewelry for his loving wife! :snowball:

Everyone in my family thinks tha I am crazy because I have already started my countdown. I send email cards to remind everyone how much time they have left. I have already started to plan activities to do with my nieces and nephew, along with a few neighborhood kids :)
