Awesom recipes that i have read so far. I am so hungry :!!
I am looking to start some early baking and freezing things. My mom recently broke her leg and has had one surgery and maybe having another surgery, so we arn't sure if she will be cast free and healed for the holidays. I thought i could atleast do some stuff now as this will be the first time it will be all on me most likely, and we both had wanted to do baking for gifts. So anything i can do early will be a help to all of us,especially as that time draws near i will be focusing on finals Yah :snowball:
If anyone has any great recipes that can be made ahead that you may know of would be so appreciated. I'm not a baker so i don't even know if this is to early. I noticed some great cookies and bread recipes and am hoping to be able to freeze the batter.
Sorry this is so lon guys

Hope to hear from some of you!!!

Hmmm...hopefully someone with more baking experience than I can help you with your "early" baking. To me, it would seem a bit *too* early to start now, but I'm not super saavy in the kitchen so I could be completely wrong!

You can make and freeze cookies, certain cookie doughs, cakes, breads and muffins.

In the past I have made choc chip cookie dough, sugar cookie dough, and ginger bread cookie and froze thenm up to 3 months before baking. When freezing I used wax paper and roll the cookie dough into logs with the then I have used saran wrap and/or foil to go over the wax paper and freeze.

To freeze already make cookies Bake them, let cool and then put them into small stacks. Wrap in saran wrap and wrap again with foil. They usually keep up to 3 months with out any taste difference.

I also make orange cranberry breads/muffins, pound cakes and applesauce cakes/bread. Bake let cook, wrap in saran wrap very tightly and then in foil or large freezer bags.

Fudge is also something else that freezes great.

I hope I answered some of your questions. Please feel free to contact me with any questions.
