As you all know, I am a retailer by profession in addition to being a crazed Christmas webmaster. I manage Utah, Idaho, Colorado and Nevada for a west-coast based specialty retailer.

Last year, one of our local malls opened at 12:01 a.m. on Black Friday and I was there for that madness.

I've long participated in Black Friday overseeing my stores and generally "people watching".

I find it a great event, not only from my perspective as a retailer. Do you get out in that madness and just how far do you go?

Jeff

I used to work retail so every Black Friday was spent running myself ragged. Honestly, I don't think I could ever face working another Black Friday. However, shopping on Black Friday is a TON of fun!

My DH and I, along with my step-daughter, head out in the morning (we don't get up waaay early or anything) and hit the stores that have deals we think we might want to check out. We usually manage to put a pretty big dent in our Christmas shopping that day. Then, we grab dinner somewhere and usually take in a movie to cap the day off.

Actually, if you look in the news archives you'll find that black was a very in color last year for artificial Christmas trees.

Those Brits!

Looks like you disabled the quote tags in this forum.

He was just making a sarcastic comment about the typo in the title.

I go shopping on Black Friday, but NOT at the mall. The Friday after Thanksgiving is the day I buy and set up my Christmas tree. I do the whole tree farm hike and run back to town with an evergreen tied to the roof of my vehicle thing.

I try to take advantage of the Columbus Day sales for my Christmas shopping and fill in the gaps by shopping online. Oh the Christmas memories! Black Friday 2006, 5:30am, in pjs with coffee, shopping online...it doesn't get any better!

I believe I start celebrating Black Friday before it was called that. But my family started about 1995. My wife and sister-law make a big deal of the day. We all really look forward to having fun out there with everyone shopping for Christmas! Let go everyone!

My wife drags me out of the house to go every year. I always start out complaining from the moment I get into the car about the traffic, the people, the lines.......But then when I see how much money I saved with all the sales, it's all smiles!!! ButI'm still voting for being forced by my spouse.
