DEFINATELY #1. I think it is the funniest of them all. Usually the original is the best.

I pick #2, though I love the first 2. The 3rd movie was horrible, to say the least.

I would probably go 1. How come you left out Home Alone 4?
I cant decide between 1st and 2nd one. Both are great, best Christmas movies in my opinion.

Definitely Home Alone 1. I remember when it came out I took my little sister to the movie theater to see it (that was a HUGE deal for us back then because we never went to the movies...it was to expensive). I remember we laughed so hard that we couldn't stop, even in the car on the way home!
I wasn't fond of any of the sequels. I was willing to believe that a set of otherwise "good" parents could end up leaving their kid once. When it got to Home Alone 2 I started thinking..."sheesh, someone needs to call DCFS on these people".

Well, remember what Kevin complained about earlier in the film? He complained about spending Christmas in Florida without any Christmas trees (and even wished to have his own vacation alone), so he ended up going to NYC. A good choice, because there were plenty of Christmas trees there, ranging from the ones at the Plaza hotel, to Rockefeller Center, to all around the city.
And as for Buzz saying that Kevin screwed up in the first place by getting on the wrong plane? That's false. He did NOT screw up. As I stated, he wanted a place with Christmas trees and wanted to have his own vacation alone. (And as Kate said it best, "Well, you got your wish last year, maybe you'll get it again this year." Kevin replies, "I hope so." Well, there you go!) But I'm glad that Mr. Duncan gave the whole family presents, and Buzz makes up for the mistake by allowing Kevin to open up the first present.

I personally liked the 1st one as I do with most movies that end up having a part 1 or 2..

My favorite is number 2 but i also luv the first one!
Numbers 3 and 4 stunk worse then a dead racoon in the back dumpster behind a cigar factory.

But he didn't purposly get on the other plane! He thought he was following his dad.

Home Alone 3 and 4 are not really part of the Home Alone series as far as I am concerned. It is a new family, new actors, and new writers. I do not even consider that to be the same series.
Now when you ask me to pick between the 1st two, I have to choose Home Alone 2. HILARIOUS. 1 is good too, but 2 is a personal favorite

i said the same thing.i dont even think or consider 3 being part of the series.they just probably added a 3 to it since they wouldnt be able to call it home alone....but the 1st one is my favorite.i like the 2nd one but i would watch 1 over 2.

Home Alone 4 is supposed to be Kevin and one of the Burglars is supposed to be Marv. The movie is pretty bad.

Home Alone then the second one, sorry i think the others are just awful, they should of left it at 2 instead of milking it.

Well, the 3rd one I saw only once. It was awful, and I never watched it again. Haven't seen the 4th one yet.
So the first 2 Home Alone movies get a big 2 Thumbs UP, the 3rd gets a big 2 Thumbs DOWN.

I go back and forth between 1 and 2. 3 totally stunk. My kids love them but my step-daughters call each other buttheads a lot after they watch them. Not too cute after awhile.

I love 1 the best. 2 is pretty good and I don't totally despise 3. I just don't include it in my Christmas viewing! I didn't even know there was a 4!!!

I loved 2. Just the idea of wandering around a big city on your own, with hundreds of other people but nevertheless, you were alone. And this time, he wasn't even "home". I just think it had a much bigger scope and much more heart (the bird lady, the scene in the park at the end.)
For some reason Roger Ebert like the third one better than the first two. Something about more character development or something.
