I'm fond of the old Andy Griffith episode where mean old Ben Weaver tries to get himself arrested just to join the Christmas festivities at the jail.

Wow, that's a toughie.

I think consistently "Home Improvement" had the best Christmas episodes. I think they did one every year and it seemed that they always went "all out" for their Christmas episodes and that always made them fun to watch.

I don't know what series had the best, but the Christmas episodes were always the best no matter what series it was. They were/are always my favorite.

Oh this is a tough one...do we only get to pick one? *L* I really love them all. The older classics the better.

Sunshine-when I read the question I instantly thought of "Home Improvement". I love that show and was thrilled when Nick at Nite started running their episodes and I especially can't wait til the Christmas ones start running.

My favorite seriously Christmasy ones were the Waltons and Little House on the Prairie. However, I do love the Friends episode with the "Holiday Armadillo". I laugh my butt off everytime Ross walks in dressed in the armadillo costume.

The Home Improvement Christmas specials myself.
Funny as and I can relate to some of the situations Tim gets himself into.

Ah, I loved B:TAS. I don't remember the Christmas episode (but I do remember the Joker's scene in The Long Halloween, great stuff), but I remember him and Gordon at a diner and it snowed. That was great. :D

I would have to say any of the Married with Children Christmas episodes were good. Also I like That 70's show and the Simpsons Christmas episodes. But I like any Christmas show regardless. I just like these ones more!!

If you are looking for a real "christmas-y" feeling than I too would have to say home improvement. They seem to capture some of the Christmas magic and make me feel warm watching it. However, as far as entertainment is concerned, "The Office" christmas episodes are laugh out loud funny

I have been thinking about this since the question was asked & I just don't know! Lol! I can't think of just one that really sticks out in my mind. I will have to go back & watch some that I have taped. I'm sure it will be an oldy...Happy Days, All In The Family (I'm thinking that might be my favorite) Lavern & Shirley, Brady Bunch, Coach, I Love Lucy, the Jeffersons, Three's Company, The Waltons, Little House On The Prarie, There are so many good oldies....

I've almost skipped this thread entirely because my choice is pretty unconventional. I pretty much love everything mentioned but for me one of the best Christmas episodes I ever saw was the first season of West Wing. Different, yes. But pretty powerful in its own way.

I agree with the Little House on the Prairie/Waltons choices - basically because you are always guaranteed a good sob with either of them!!

There was also the Betwitched episode where both the Stevens and the Kravitz's took an orphan home to spend Christmas with them. Samantha and Darren's boy was a "non-believer". Cue a magical trip to the North Pole to prove Santa really did exist!!!

I have to agree with you guys when you say home imrovement...it seems like in the past month i have seen almost all of the christmas episodes...my personal favorite is when Brad doesn't want to spend Christmas with the family and eventually comes around...it has one of my favorite scenes and lines of all times...Al: "Who's Leon?" Randy: "Maybe Leon was the baby in the manger next door" I absolutely love that episode

The Rugrats ones were cool because it was one of the few kids shows to talk about different religions. Most shows nowadays are too cowardly to attempt something like that.

My all-time favorite would be the "Little House on the Prairie" Christmas show from season 1. It's when Laura makes a trade to Mr. Oleson....her horse for a stove for her Ma. I also enjoy the Home Improvement Christmas shows! I also have fond memories of Christmas with "The Flintstones." I loved the Flintstones!
