When do you start listening to Christmas music?

So, when do you start listening to Christmas music?

This year I decided to start listening to Christmas music around November. Well, the beginning of November.

I generally start right before thanksgiving, and listen the whole month of december, and even after christmas. I usually will listen to all my christmas cds right up until new years.

It's not unknown for the odd CD to be played in June/July but that's usually a one-off. The real kick-off is the beginning of December and I'm loathed to stop them in January!

We've been known to listen to Christmas year round. There's nothing like a good Christmas song to cool you off during a 97 degree, extra humid Florida summer day. That and a frozen margarita.

My "rule" has always been November 1st - BUT I listen to it on & around July 25th for Christmas in July. My rule has kind of gone by the wayside (rules are meant to be broken, right??) ...if we get the 1st flurry of snow & I'm at home, my Christmas music goes on & everytime it snows there after! :smile: I was on my way to the lake Friday after work & I just happened to have Perry Como in the cd player (left there from Christmas In July) so I hit the play button & listened to "Oh there's no place like home for the holidays, cuz no matter how far away you roam..." Soooo, I guess my answer would have to be, I listen whenever the urge hits me!! ;-)

anytime on the website, i turn the station on while im on. I listen very speraticly throughout the year but truly start week of tgiving or no1 it depends.

I get the "urge" too...can't help it. My daughter and I will send Christmas songs throughout the year...we don't mind. I really enjoy listening to my Kenny G christmas CD....ahhh that gets the ball rolling for the holiday season for me...

I take advantage of that opportunity by listening to Christmas music first during July and then a little in August, then a small breather, then start in again either at the end of September or the start of October.

I have the urge to listen to it now, but my rule has been the first of November. I listen at work but to be honest I'm a little embrarassed when a co-worker walks into my office and usually catches me in the act and wonder why so early; so I try to keep it down. My town usually has the tree lighting ceremony in early in November; this year it's Nov. 9th and they give away a holiday CD and on our way home we usually listen to it and that night will signify the begining of the Christmas music season for me.

:treeguy: Well we use to have a day in july or august that we would listen to xmas music and watch a xmas movie. We still do that once in awhile. We would always start listening to xmas music non stop with the first snowfall, being in maine that was generally in Nov. now with global warming we usually don't get sno very much before xmas(not always though) So now I start listening around the second to third week of Oct. on and off and come the 1st to second week of nov we listen only to xmas music. this year i started listening to mariah carey "oh holy night" in august just to get me excited. today i have downloaded about 10 christmas songs and i will listen to those now and mid november i will download about 100 more and listen to them every day!

I listen all year round. I especially love "Accuholidays Classical Christmas" it is great even at dinnertime. I also really enjoy alot of the "Windham Hill" records. they have somevery different artists and versions of songs. they also have new songs written by the artists as well. i hope this doesn't make me sound too geeky.:? I listen whenever the mood hits me. But it really goes into overdrive around October. Here and there year round though.

I will listen to it when the mood hits me but around Oct I will start listening to it a bit more and then by Nov I am listneing to it all the time. the radio stations around here will start playing all christmas music in Nov, last year they started on Thanksgiving, the year before it was even earlier.

As I tell my son when he rolls his eyes at me because I am wearing shorts and listening to Christmas music.. it puts me in my HAPPY place... So for me I listen all the time. I have Bing in my tape player in my car right now. I purchased from QVC some instrumental Christmas CD's. They are wonderful! I listen to them year round.. soothing.. Christmas Cafe is my favorite!!! when do I start? when I was 12-13----I started listening to it around August, and drove my whole family insane....Now....I might listen to a song on youtube during the year....but around October I start listening to it!

I usually start around July, but then again, I will listen at other times of the year if I feel like it. After Christmas is over I find myself listening to the music a little while longer, just to kind of hold me over until it comes again!
