what kills me is that half the time the complaint is they just want to be included. Alot of them are upset when things are eliminated. Its not what they asked for.

This is the truth They just want their own Celebration, they are not asking for others to give up their own. However Schools and places like that are just figuring it is easier just to cut everything than try.

I don't think it is that simple. Schools have a great opportunity to teach with their actions and they fail nearly every time to grasp that opportunity. These debates are healthy and important but schools are more interested in just shutting down the debate rather than truly investigating the right thing to do.
I think this school board this time got it right though -- they reversed the decision to cancel Halloween and Christmas and just added Ramadan instead. That's what they should have done in the first place.
