Christmas is just done differently here. Brits don't necessarily spend more than anyone else, but like elsewhere, the holiday's meaning has largely been lost in the avalance of commericalism, cynicism and political correctness.

My husband and I don't subscribe to that view of the Season and thats why these Boards are so much fun for me. Like-minded people who haven't forgotten what Christmas is really about.

Thanks for thinking I'm young! This is my second marriage and while I can pass for 40, I certainly don't look my daughter's age! http://talkchristmas.com//images/smiles/icon_smile.gif

Now I really get the picture! Europeans are very different when it comes to the reason we celebrate Christmas. I love poinsettias. Your house will be very pretty.
