Last year things got violent over Richard Viselli’s Christmas light display. The Claremont, California man has a passion for exhuberant displays each Christmas on his home and last year took it to a new level by broadcasting music via a low frequency FM transmitter to synchronize his “show” to festive tunes. Things will be [...]

I say Bah Humbug to the neighbors who complained! I would LOVE it if my neighbor had Christmas lights set to music!! I wouldn't mind the traffic at all.
I hate that a bunch of people ruined the spirit for this man!!

So much for starting the holidays on a right and merry foot. It's a shame that more people can't just look at what he's doing as a gift to the community and be thankful.
We have an entire street here in Baltimore (34th Street to be exact) that the entire neighborhood decorates and has huge displays up year after year. There's a parade to start the season off right and even some of the neighborhood shops and eateries get involved and benefit. There are even some homes where you're allowed to walk right up to the porch of the homes and look around and even one of a local artist where he'll let you come into his home to look at his work. News cameras are always there, and I think they even have their own website. With the thousands of people going through that neighborhood everyday the businesses profit, the eateries profit and the familes profit by getting involved in the spirit. It's been apart of my family tradition for the last few years now.

I'm gonna bet he's gonna send them blindfolds for Christmas. If you're so offended by the lights, put on a blindfold when you go out to put yours up (just don't cover your eyes completely).

I think this CAN get sticky. This was the place where the neighbors actually came to blows last year. Shameful, but what do you do when night after night at Christmastime -- even Christmas Eve when you have family coming over -- you have to put up with cars lined up blocking your street and you can't get into your own driveway? And what about those people who go on foot to look and then trash the neighborhood lawns?
I think there are some issues with this that could be problematic.

New York is the city of lights during the Holiday season, and I simply love it. However, one thing is having beautiful glaring lights, and music playing in commercial districts, and public places, and another is disrupting the peace in residential communities.
I don't think I'd enjoy living in a community where other people's glaring lights, loud music and attraction of excessive traffic prevented me from enjoying Christmas peacefully and quietly in my home.
