When I make a donation to certain organizations they will send me Christmas Cards, Thank you Cards, etc so I usually have plenty that I use and don't always have to buy any.

Hallmark.com has a nice assortment of free e-cards for all occasions. I usually chose their free holiday cards for Thanksgiven, but for Christmas, I only send e-cards to casual acquaintances.

For close friends and family, I rather get them hard copy Christmas cards to which I add my personal greeting and
wishes.
