THe easiest soup you could ever make...it fills you up, and tastes so good. and it warms up the tootsies!!
You will need:
2 heads of cabbage
( i like to largely shred it, but the rest of my family cuts into chunks)
A large cut of ham
(I always use the already cooked kind--and i like a lot of ham)
A 5 lb bag of potatos
(I also like alot of potatos )
a least one stick of butter
Salt and Pepper to taste
also, you may add onions if you wish
after chopping into bite size pieces, put into large pot
add water to cover
add butter, chopped into small pieces
Bring to a boil, stirring frequently
once potatos are soft enough to pierce with a fork
Turn down to a low simmer and let cook for at least another 20 minutes
although--Once the potatos are soft, the soup is ready..I do the extra 20 minutes because I like to cabbage to soak up all the flavors..
It really is good!!
