Christmas lights disappearing from high streets

I read an article last week that said that Christmas lights may soon disappear from high streets (in England) because of the cost of meeting health and safety regulations. Apparently before the lights are put up every bolt and light fitting has to be tested. It is such an expensive process that many local councils are thinking of not bothering to put up Christmas lights. It is so sad, I really hope that they put the lights up anyway.

Thats a bummer. I hope they can come up with a better plan. I could not even imagine. I too would be sad about this. You have to have Christmas Lights out and about. It's just part of the season.

I sure hope they find a solution, it would be awful with no christmas lights! :(
