I am curious to know what everyone's top 5 favorite Christmas movies are. Not necessarily what you think are the best holiday movies of all time, but your personal favorites. I know it's hard to pick just 5, but here are mine:

1. National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation - it wouldn't be Christmas without it.

2. Home Alone - this movie came out in 1990 when I was 7 years old and has been a staple during the holiday season ever since.

3. A Christmas Story - I appreciate this movie more and more every time I see it.

4. A Christmas Carol (1951) - This is the definitive version of the story for me with Alastair Sim as Scrooge. A classic.

5. The Santa Clause - Not a huge fan of the sequels, but the original has always been a favorite of mine with Scott Calvin..I mean Tim Allen as Santa.

I guess I am an odd one because I do not care for this movie. I have seen this movie a few times and there is only one scene that I like but even that is not a must see for me.

"Also, a short (30 min) film done by the Mormons called "Mr. Krueger's Christmas" starring a much older Jimmy Stewart".

THAT'S what it's called - I've been trying for ages to remember the name of that. The Mormons did another one about this lady that starts to go blind (was it Celeste Holme) - sounds depressing but it was really good (I did watch it at 4am with Mr Krueger's Christmas on Christmas morning while finishing off wrapping presents so I may have been a bit fuzzy!!)

I've also decided I must be a social pariah - I've never seen National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation:-?

So, my old and new top 5......oh, and cartoons!

1.) A Christmas Story. It's not christmas without this movie.

2.) The Polar Express. The way tom hanks does the conductors voice is priceless.

3.) The Santa Clause. Tim Allen makes a great santa claus, plus, the north pole looked really cool.

4.) A Charlie Brown Christmas. This is one of my favorites for sure, especially the scene where linus explains what christmas is really about.

5.) How The Grinch Stole Christmas (both versions). I had to pick both of these, the cartoon one is a classic but jim carrey did an awesome job on the grinch.
