LOS ANGELES (Hollywood Reporter)- With Santa Claus movies like “Fred Claus,” who needs Ebenezer Scrooge?Even more confounding than this mirthless, misanthropic mess is the involvement of such talented people as Vince Vaughn, Paul Giamatti, Miranda Richardson, Rachel Weisz, Kathy Bates and Kevin Spacey. Holiday films invariably perform well opening week, and the reunion of Vaughn [...]

As much as I like the talents of Paul Giamatti, Kathy Bates, and Kevin Spacey - I just can't support any Christmas film that puts Santa in a bad light. It's not right and I personally believe it is part of a larger agenda.
If there are any Hollywood producer types out there reading this, how about a movie about the true meaning of Christmas? Or how about a Santa movie that faithfully depicts how Nicholas of Myra became Saint Nicholas aka Santa Claus? I think the Autobiography of Santa Claus by Jeff Guinn would make an excellent screenplay. IMHO.

I totally agree. The true Santa Claus story is a great movie waiting to happen. What don't we write it?

Don't put all the blame on Hollywood, they're in it to make money. They have to make movies that the bulk of the moronic public will want to watch, which is more often than not mindless crap. The rest of the time it's misinformed, idealistic BS.

I rarely listen to what the critics say. If I did, I wouldn't have seen half the movies that I really liked, if not more! Critics rarely like holiday movies anyway. I'm going to see it and I'll form my own opinion.
