View Full Version : Hot Buttered Rum Batter

INGREDIENTS


1 pound butter
1 pound brown sugar
1 pound confectioners' sugar
1 quart vanilla ice cream, softened
1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
1 teaspoon ground nutmeg.DIRECTIONS


Melt butter in a large pot over medium heat. Blend in brown sugar and confectioners' sugar. Remove from heat, and whisk in the ice cream, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Pour mixture into a plastic container, seal, and freeze.
In a coffee mug, measure 1 tablespoon Hot Buttered Rum Batter and 1 fluid ounce of rum, then fill cup with boiling water. Stir, and sprinkle top of drink with nutmeg.

Oh, a friend of mine made this at her Halloween party. It was absolutely fab!!! I'm so *not* an alcohol drinker (don't like the flavor) but these were fantastic...nice and smooth with a great flavor! YUMMY!

Yes HBR is usually a big hit during the holiday season. It's nice to that you can put the batter in a tupperware type container and freeze it too.

This looks like the recipe that my best friends mom used to make during the holidays and we used to just eat the batter.
