both top ten lists are very funny.......I have never tried fruitcake because everyone has always said how horrible it is. I should probably try it for myself, but I figure, how can so many people be wrong?

i often wonder if its just one of those things that people say, & people accept it as the truth

Fruitcake is wonderful if you get a good one. Most of the ones in a grocery store or Walmart are dry. Try one from Swiss Colony and you'll be a fruitcake fan forever.

Lol, that's brilliant! More like cheese than friutcake, but as it's trad to eat strong cheese with it over here, that's probably about right...

I'm not that keen on fruit cake but I like the Christmas Cake I make every year, but it's quite a lot lighter and moister than most. It's this one: http://whychristmas.com/fun/rec_ccake.html (I also soak the fruit in a good bit of rum - adds to the merriment!)
