Sounds like one to catch by accident someday next year whenit appears on TBS...Such a shame...What a great cast! Oh well...Nobody messes with Santa and profits from it...Thanks for the review Jeff! You saved me twenty bucks!

I am 31 years old and you will be hard pressed to find someone who loves Christmas as much as I do. Who loves the magic of Santa Claus as much as I do. And this is coming from someone with no children.
I went and saw Fred Claus on Friday as I had been waiting for it for over a year. I had a year to build my expectations and the movie lived up to every one of them. I didn't go into it expecting a fluffy feel good Christmas movie as I didn't go into it expected an adult oriented CHristmas movie like Bad Santa. It was just what I expected, somewhere in the middle. I think that it's a movie that I will watch every Christmas as I am big on rewatching the same Christmas movies every year.
I didn't see anything wrong with the content as far as having children watch it. The magic of Santa Claus is there and represented magnificently by Paul Giamatti. Some of the humour in it is adult oriented. Not meaning that your children are going to hear a lot of swearing or sexual innuendo. I think that more or less a lot of the humour would simply go over there heads. Vince Vaughn brings his type of high impact quick talking humour and alot of it your kids won't understand it. However the things he says are funny.
I came out of the movie thinking that it could have been wrapped up a little better but all in all a very fun movie with a great message and a satisfying way to add to my holiday cheer.
All of the reviews I have read say alot of the same things as the previous poster but I wanted to give my mini review and say don't be deterred by thinking that this is a bad movie and not a potential Christmas classic. IMO my younger neices and nephews wouldn't understand It's a Wonderful Life but that doesn't make it a bad movie.
I would be more against wanting them to watch Miracle on 34th Street with all the non believer talk than I would for them to watch this movie. Christmas movies are about embodying the spirit of Christmas. Whether it is done in a way that reinforces all the familiar traditions or whether it does something completely different should not be the gage you use to determine to see Fred Claus. It was fun and it added to my holiday enjoyment so I give it a thumbs up. Skip the reviews and make your own decision. Don't expect Bad Santa, don't expect It's a Wonderful Life. Just enjoy Fred Claus.
Happy Holidays everyone.

Evening everyone, i went and saw this movie tonight it was actually really good. Some parts were kind of..farfetched such as santa getting fired, but other than that, the scenery and everything was wonderful. I reccomend this movie.

Let us know what you think of it. It did ok at the box office last weekend but I doubt we'll see a repeat of that this week.

You know Jeff it might fall off the next couple of weeks. However I think it might have a resurgence as it gets closer to Christmas.

I have to say, I really enjoyed it. I know it was panned by a lot of critics, but there were some real "laugh out loud" moments, in my opinion. The scene with the support group had my group of friends cracking up. It not going to garner any Oscar nods, but it was great fun!

I saw the movie on Sunday, and I have to say that I was disappointed. I love Vince Vaughn, and had high expectations, but was bummed out by the dark side of the movie. When I go to see a Christmas movie, I want it to be happy and upbeat, this had a darks side to it that I was not fond of. Firing Santa, You have got to be kidding me!

We saw the movie as a family last night my husband, me and DD16 and DS12 and we all just loved it. I thought it was funny and really put me in the mood for Christmas even more. We will be adding this to our Christmas movie collection. It was very much worth seeing.

I haven't gotten a chance to see it yet..Right now The Bee Movie is playing, and next week I think it will be Alvin and the chipmunks. I hope they show it here. I love movies where we can all sit down and watch it together as a family. Thanks!
