Has anybody ever visited Christmas Town, USA? We stumbled upon it on the web and the pictures look beautiful. I think it is in North Carolina somewhere.

It is called Mcadenville. I used to live there. From the end of october until the second week of January it is extremely hard to get out of town at a decent hour. I would have to leave for work around 5am because there was so much traffic. Beautiful place to visit BUT I would never want to live there again. It isn;t too far from Charlotte, NC.

Never been there.. but Good Morning America is going to be in the next town over that way to be there for the gigantic tree lighting ceremony.. they have the largest decorated c-mas tree in the world :) I think thats pretty neat! Its the place we take the kids on the C-mas cruise to go to the "North Pole"

Beautiful pictures. I've never been there. My husbands Grandma lives close to there, maybe we can stop on our vacation.

It's actually very beautiful the first time you go through there. But other than at Christmastime it is barely on the map as a town. We drive through there atleast four times a week and it's amazing how the town changes for the holidays.
It seems so small when there aren't cars looking at Christmas lights during the year and even though it's just on our way to Wal Mart, my wife and I still go through atleast once every Christmas. I'm 32 years old but this year I've finally made the decision that I will walk through this year and avoid the crazy traffic.
Coincidentally it's also where a good bit of the movie Talladega Nights was filmed at, but unfortunately not at Christmas. Someone really should use it for a Christmas movie. It is magical.

Looks wonderful. But my pet peeve: they stop it all on December 26, the second day of Christmas (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Twelve_days_of_christmas)! :-?

This is SO Hilarious!!! This is my hometown!!! When I saw the words "Christmas Town," I thought, "Hmm, it's nothing like McAdenville" (please note the correct spelling). My old home is the first house right after you cross the bridge!! Then I found out you were actually talking about McAdenville! You cannot imagine the traffic. We even had a hard time trying to cross the street just to walk to church. The mayor (Bill Pharr, owner of Pharr Yarns) used to pay the electricity of anyone who put up lights, above what their normal bill would be in December. We would have the yule log lighting right after the parade. Y'all are making me so homesick!!
