This is actually one of the reasons why we can't have a live tree in our home. The mold in/on the tree triggers horrible asthma attacks in two of my sisters.

I didn't think it would be a mold source. But it's obvious that live Christmas trees are fire hazards if we don't water them!

but it is not because of mold. My daughter is allergic to trees and grass and would become quite ill if we had one.:sad:
So we invested in the best artificial tree we could find. Other than the smell (it has none) you cannot tell without touching it that it is not real.
