Christmas just wouldn't be the same without Santa's grand arrival at Gyle. We're all very excited! Forth One's Yazz and Mark Martin will be broadcasting live, and if they've been very, very good, they may even get to ride in Santa's sleigh.
The fun all starts at 3pm with free face painting - oh, and look out for the big Christmas tree and elf, who will be roaming around.
There'll be some clowning around, keep an eye out for the large reindeer, and watch for the Ice Queen when she arrives a bit later.
Our Design-a-Light winners get the showbiz treatment when they arrive in style by limo at 4.30pm, just in time to switch on our fabulous Christmas lights at 4.45pm.
Enjoy the Silver Show at 5.30pm before the excitement really starts to build. Behind the scenes we'll be keeping a close eye on our special Santa Radarscope, watching Santa's progress to the Gyle. With the wind in the right direction, we expect Santa and his reindeer to be on final approach at around 5.45pm.
He'll start his parade outside just after six before stopping to have a chat with some of the boys and girls. After a quick mince pie, he'll head for the grand parade indoors at 6.40pm.
At seven o'clock Christmas officially starts when Santa opens his Gyle Grotto! Goodness - it's going to be a packed day with loads going on and lots of fun. Don't miss out - be sure to join us at The Gyle Shopping Centre this Friday.
See you then - ho ho ho!

Will Santa be saying "Ho, Ho, Ho" OR "Ha, Ha, Ha"? Will he be fat & jolly or skinny? Lol!

Sorry...just had to say that. Did ya'll see on the news yesterday where they are trying to get Santa to say Ha Ha Ha b/c Ho Ho Ho is degrading to women? Argh....rediculous!!! Whats next? It's out of control!!!!

Well it was a good event though it could of been abit better, I thaught the whole event would take place outside so I was looking around but didn't see anything I went inside and there were a few entertainment. There was a guy doing ballooms and people dressed up in stilts there wasa Rudolph, Christmas Tree,Elf & Snow Queens, when it was time to see Santa arrive we all went outside behind barriers nd in came Santa being pulled with beautiful reindeer the slioeigh was very pour though just a mini car they had no effert on the sleigh but was good fun. After that Santa disappeared for a break so all the kids started qeuing to see him outside the grotto which was inside a Christmas Tree, there was someone dressed as a Snowman collecting money. Santa was due to appear again at 7pm to open his grotto but I hasd to leave at 6.45pm to catch the last bus ride home a great event
