Christmas with the Kranks (Skipping Christmas) was a better book than movie.

You know, I'm looking forward to it and dreading it at the same time, like a visit from cousin Eddie.

I have found the more I watch Christmas with the Kranks the more I see
human character, the gift of giving, community love and giving, truly what Christmas is all about, the joy of giving and love.

I just love the fact that Jamie Lee Curtis looks dumpier in a Christmas vest than I do. Sort of a backward ego boost, I guess.

I guess we need a photo to photo comparison so we can judge.

It was bound to happen. She had several good years, though.

I don't know if I mentioned this before but I've seen Jamie Lee Curtis in person. This was several years ago (early 80's) when I was up in Manhattan to see the Christmas Pageant at Radio City Music Hall. I was doing some window shopping and she and Adam Ant (80's rock/pop singer) were literally standing right behind me holding hands looking in the window. It was so weird. It was almost like they wanted to be noticed. I had my camera bag in hand and never pulled it out to take a shot. I think I just said hi and walked away. By then other people started recognizing them and crowding around them. I probably could have sold the picture to the inquirier and gave up my day job, which I think at the time was a baker in a two bit grocery store in Minersville, PA.

You were in the middle of nowhere, weren't you? I wonder how far that was from the awful events in Lancaster County today.

I used to live in Reading. That's where I grew up. I used to go to Lancaster quite often to see concerts. I didn't live far from Lancaster County, approximately 45 minutes. Minersville was northeastern PA in the coal regions.

I guess cuz its most current but I really liked Christmas With the Kranks. I didn't like it as well as the book either but it still cracked me up and I will probably buy the DVD this year.

After that I have to go with the Santa Clause 1.

I like them both and I own them both.
