My Grandfather was actually born in Blackburn, Lancs. When he was alive we always had Mince pie. My Dad seemed to like it too...but I haven't seen one in many, many years!!! I'm not sure if they are available anymore! I guess they must be somewhere...

Here in Rochester, you can buy the pie or you can buy the can of minced meat filling & make your own.

Yes you can. I actually order mince pies from a lady in Pennsylvania. She makes the traditional and just fruit mince pies. If my mother was still alive I would get them from her but when she passed she took her recipe with her.

I bought a Mrs. Smith's mince pie yesterday and baked it tonight. My Mom always made her home-made mincemeat pie every Christmas and as a kid I hated it. But love them now.
