Well every Christmas Eve, my mother entertained and everyone joined in at our home. It was a time I will always cherish..We all would exchange gifts, and my mother always had the home decorated like no other. Lots of food, laughter and even a few happy tears. I also cherish the memories of all 6 of my siblings gathered around opening up gifts together as children. It wasn't so much about the gift(s) it was the quality time we all spent as a family. Those toys have come and went but my 5 brothers and sister have not.

That's great Annette! I agree with the fond memories of opening the gifts AS A FAMILY. I definitely try to recreate that every year for my kids!

As a kid I remember waking up to find a santa sack at the end of the bed, of going through to Mum and dads room and waking them up, putting a sheet over the bed, making drinks for everyone with my sisters help and opening presents on their bed while eating Christmas Breakfast of biscuits. Santa always gave us gifts we really wanted - jerseys with the picture or pattern we wanted on them, petticoats made to fit the skirt we had, pencil cases with our favourite fabric we had spotted at the fabric shop - same with purses and the like. But my favourite year was the one where I got a denim purse, a denim skirt (both matched perfectly) a white blouse and a beautiful blue cardigan. Santa made them all - there were no tags on them from clothing companies. Santa didnt shortcut with me - that still means the world to me.
