Personally, I like it but don't put it on my tree.

I think it looks nice but I don't like it on my tree. It's worse when you have animals..it's like static cling and the stuff gets everywhere. My siblings and I used to stick it on the windows, my mothers china cabinet and it gave off a look like a cracked window or mirror...*laugh

I like it a lot but my hubby doesn't. We don't put it on our tree anymore. We did when we were first married 25 years ago.

I hate it because it's pretty, but entirely unusable in a house with four cats.

I like tinsel, but I don't have any on my tree. My husband is not a big fan of it so we don't use it.

This has just reminded me of the Santa Clause film, when the Elves busted Santa out of jail, they used tinsel to break the lock. '' Tinsel, not just for decoration..'' lol!! See it has it's uses...:)

Tinsel is wonderful except for the shedding everywhere. I use tinsel outside on fences and around support posts and as part of the decoration around the fireplace - which doesnt get used at Christmas very often - as it is easy to vacuum off the tiles. We used to have tinsel elsewhere but the constant clean up meant that we decided it would be better used in moderation.

Growing up we used to put so much tinsel on our tree that you couldn't even see the tree! Now Dh and I don't add any to our tree and I think I actually prefer it that way.
So, while I don't hate it, it's not for me.

On the other hand my b/f loves it and goes to EXTREMES putting it on the tree. He uses so much that he almost covers all of the ornament's .

I love tinsel!! But I have cats in the house so can't use it. But I think it's so pretty reflecting the lights. My grandma use to use it and I loved it then, so it reminds me of my gram. She passed in 1986, so it brings back so many happy memories!!!

I don't put it on my tree. I do remember though when I was a kid my mom always had a ton to put on our tree. By the time we got finished with it you couldn't even tell there was a tree underneath it..LOL.

I love it, but not as much as I did as a child (I called tinsel "magic sticks" that Santa put on the tree when I was very little). We can't have any this year because we have four cats who would LOVE to get into it, but it's still neat nonetheless :)

I like it when it comes to wrapping round banisters and other things like that (it has to be big thick and bushy) but i hate it when it comes to trees!:tree:

:tree:I don't care for garland or tinsel on the tree. Our tree is decorated with lights and ornaments, with an angel as a tree top. WE have a beautiful tree skirt too. I love our chridtmas tree, when it's finished, it's very old fashioned looking.

Growing up we always had tinsel (icicles) on our tree and I used it years ago on my trees.
One year my daughter had a cat that was sick, took her to the vet and yep she ingested an icicle, it wrapped around her intestines, we had to have her operate on and she recovered.
The only garland I ever used on my tree is the white beads, they did look pretty on the tree with all white decorations. I never cared for the tinsel garland so I never used it anywhere.

I loved it when I was a kid...we used to throw it on the tree....later on, we stopped using it...and somehow I find a bit....well...usually itīs just thrown away right after the tree is gone....instead of all of the other things that You put on the trees...I just think itīs a waste....I still like Tinsel tho

I love tinsel and the way it finishes off a tree. However, I don't care for the static issues the light plastic ones have, or the difficulties it creates for pets. It's one thing to have it hanging off my dogs' tails, it's another matter to find it in the litter box.
I still have a couple of packages of the old lead icicles that my Mother bought the year they were being discontinued (for good reason). I can't bring myself to open those packages and use them, although I would love to.

I used to love it, but now I can do without it just because of the PITA it is to clean up and take off of the tree.

I believe that tinsel can be horrible or beautiful...if you use too much of it in all the wrong places, it will be horrible. If you use it sparingly in the right places, it will be beautiful.
