:merry:During this busy season, do you have many holiday parties to attend? So far, we're going to an open house next Sunday at my cousins house. I'm bringing a bottle of wine, and I bought an ornament for their Christmas Tree. The Saturday before Christmas, we will get together at my husband's brothers house for their family christmas get together. I think most of their food will be catered, but I think I should call and still find out if I could bring anything.

I'm hosting an open house mid December for all my neighbours. I'm working hard to decorate my house top to bottom with handmade wreaths, garlands etc.. So it's looking wonderful and it will be fun to have people come in and look around. I will serve appetizers and drinks.
Other than that it will just be the family party on Christmas day.

I've got a couple to go to. One is this week and then another the following week. 'Tis the season...................
We have a Christmas party this Friday. I'm excited because Santa will be there and Sofie is looking forward to seeing him!! 8-) She's only 2 but she's been talking about seeing Santa since before Halloween. Last year she cried and wouldn't sit on his lap so hopefully this year will be better! lol

We had our traditional family holiday parties to go to this year. They all went well. A lot of new babies this year so that made it a lot of fun.

I'm already thinking about having our party this year! Trying to choose a date early enough that we are one of the first parties of the season, as everyone gets a little burned out the closer to Christmas it gets.
Sounds like fun...not many I know have a party during the holidays they are too busy trying to get their own gifts and such and food etc.

I'd love to do it that weekend, however my DH & sons leave to go deer hunting that weekend, right after we go out and cut our tree down. Then I take the weekend to decorate. So I'm thinking may the next weekend.

The next weekend would be great. Most people are ready for Christmas, but not yet tired of the parties.

I like to give (and go to) parties. Instead of giving my Christmas parties at Christmas - I give them throughout the year. I gave one last night. Dinner for 18 children and adults. Of course, nobody knew it was part of my Christmas entertaining. It was billed as a pizza party to welcome new neighbors. It was fun and everybody ate a lot and stayed a long time. I can rest and clean up slowly, and not be exhausted from so many Christmas activities at once! But these were all neighbors that I would love to entertain AT Christmas - if I had enough time and energy and cash then. So - in my mind - I was giving a Christmas party. I give them all throughout the year. Then, when Christmas comes, I can just attend other people's Christmas parties - and not feel bad because I'm not giving any in December. :treeguy:

My next big party will be for Christmas in July. Its normally a cookie party, but im just going to have it be a dough party. That way, no one is baking 10 dozen cookies in the 100 degree weather! Im so excited! I need to start planning it ASAP, thats my plan for Rudolph day!

I will be hosting our Cousins Christmas in July again this year. The Florida cousins (14 of 17 ) all get together and pick a secret santa name out..I can't wait. Last year was our first one but some people (the boys and one female) messed up and forgot who they picked which caused SOME problems. I think this year it will just be the female cousins doing it. I am thinking of making it themed like a Christmas ornament, or a stuffed stocking, or in honor of our grandmother dollar store treasures!!! I guess we will discuss it more on Fathers day weekend!!!

We start our holiday season by hosting DH's side of the family for Thanksgiving on the Saturday after...then I have a tea party for my Sunday school class, we host a monthly family breakfast to celebrate all birthdays for the month, we host Christmas with DH's sisters and their families and we host Christmas Eve. We go to my mom's for Christmas Day. Hmmm....seems like we do a lot here, don't we? That's ok...I love it!
