I cannot find a Wii game system for my daughter, which is top on her list. I mean, if I want to spend $500-600 for one..yeah, but not one at regular price. ARGH ~

No, the regular price is $250. They are "sold out" so you can't find one on eBay or anywhere else really for less than $500-600!! I won't pay that much for one gift.

I haven't had any problems at all getting what my 6 y/o wanted..but then again she isn't really into all the "it stuff" yet. I did get her a Compaq Presario today so she will stay off my laptop...*L*

Your absolutely right. A family member of mine has bought her kids a laptop EACH!!! and a Wii (whatever that is?) It's an incredible amount of money to spend on a child for one present. If you have the money, I say good on you, but to get yourself in debt just isnt worth it. Children dont value things if they're are given on demand. My daughter has to learn that she cant have things when she wants, and yes kids do get throughout the year anyway. Christmas just isn't the same anymore in that respect. I think I'd better start saving now for when she's older:) lol!! But...she has to earn her presents first, which is only fair, dont you think??

Over here nintendo are even pulling some of the wii ads as they're in such demand: http://www.marketingweek.co.uk/item/58871/258/262/3 wow, a big corp actually thinking!

D'you know what I (being 28!) asked for... a new bath robe; and some posh designer brush pens for my design layout work! I'm easy to please!!! ;-)

Kelly, wii's are the games consoles that you play by waving your arms around like a mad thing - rather than using a gamepad; we're hoping to hook one up to the big projector at church sometime ;-)

The only thing I noticed out of stock was the special Target had on PSP's on Black Friday. And only because my sister was looking for one. Luckily my son is only 2, so he doesn't have anything he desperately wants (he's getting a play kitchen, btw).

Following the Wii drought crisis since it launched, it really is an oddity. It's remained relatively sold out worldwide since it launched.

Glad I got mine on launch day. =)

I am so glad that my daughter is out of that stage now. She is 18 and in college, so the want and need has shifted...

I can say working in the retail business people will do anything for a Wii this holiday season. The morning of our Wii shipment a week ago there were over 70 people lined up and we only had about 20 it was sad really... parents trying so hard to please there children... people offering me $100 to hold them for there kids it's getting ridiculous.

on another note i bought 4 and resold them for three times as much. don't get mad it's part of making money plus people will pay top dollar for it say like.. $700

According to a recent report, shortages of Wii will continue well past this holiday season.

Yikes!

If I were Nintendo, I'd crank up that production line a notch or two.

Still not enough! Got to meet that demand or maybe not. I think they like to drive up the secondary market.

Wow, you'd think that would be enough to meet global demand.

This must be one heck of a gaming system.

My 19 year old son always says that the graphic's stink on Wii ,but I think it would be fun anyway ,just to play the interactive game's.
