I was browsing a recent magazine of mine and came across this article with a few tips...
1. Light a candle
According to aromatherapist, cinnamon scented candles will not only make your home smell great, they'll also help ease holiday stress and put visitors in a festive mood!
2. Start a tradition!
Experts say sharing traditions bring us closer to those we love and makes the holidays even more meaningful.
3. Treat your feet!
All that tromping through the mall can leave your feet bone-weary! So why not treat yourself to a pedicure? The pampering will make you feel great from head to toe!
4. Enjoy!
Sampling goodies this time of the year is a big part of the holiday fun. And nutritionist say that's okay as long as you don't go overboard.

When Christmas rolls around I always have candles lit, they calm me down and make the house smell so nice. It's great to have them lit while wrapping gifts and listening to music.
One Thing my sisters and I did while growing up was do our nails and paint them in Christmas colors and add trees or snowflakes, this tradition still goes on today with my two older sisters, mum,me,my niece and my daughter.

Good advice Annette..
hers another hint that will make you smile ..
don't do this around your kids though.
take a sprinkle of cinnamon and let it fall gently over the candle flame ...it sparkles like fireworks.
I only know this because of a shot we did last yr for Christmas.

Thanks
I love candles but I hardly ever light them too many people and dog walking around to possibly knock them over, but perhaps I'll get over my fear and use them more this holiday:snowball:

:treeguy:Great ideas! I love cinnamon candles & burn them all year long. If they had a cinnamon perfume out there, I'd buy it!

Thank you for bumping up this thread. The relaxation ideas DO sound great. How about starting a tradition of lighting a beautiful-smelling candle --- AND giving yourself a foot rub with some rich, creamy lotion! If you have someone to share this with - all the better! But extremely terrificv by yourself too.

Good tips! Although Im not very fond of cinnamon candles right now. I got out some of my Christmas items last weekend. My hubby had moved a few of my boxes into the attic..well I normally keep all of my candles in the basement or kitchen storage so they dont melt. One of my favorite cinnamon ones must have been put in the attic in error..it melted and wax got all over several of my favorite christmas items..the red wax actually dyed the items and I couldnt get it off and had to throw a few things away.. :-? learned my lesson thats for sure!

great ideas! I'm not a fan of cinnamon, personally, but a nice vanilla candle from Bath and Body would be nice!
What calms me down is sitting in a dark room with the fireplace burning and nothing but the lights on the tree. :)
of course, that's AFTER the kids have gone to bed LOL!!

I bought an apple-cinnamon candle last week. Unfortunately, it was the last one there. I'll check again this week.
I use my foot spa for those shopping days. I have the little fizzies, the foot scrub and the moisturizer. So it's a real treat for me.
