http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/12/12_5_2.gif (http://www.smileycentral.com/?partner=ZSzeb001_ZRxdm473YYUS) I am still asking for all of us to light a candle @ 10:00est on Christmas Eve for all those who can't be with us this year. If they are in the military or if they passed away with all of us we can light up the world. Just a single candle wherever you are for an hour.

It can be eather a real candle or an electric single candle in the window. That's our way to tell everyone fighting for us or to those who passed away that we are remembering them.

It really looked great on Christmas Eve with everyone on my street having the one candle in the window . We all wanted to do that for all the men & women in the military who can't be home for Christmas.

http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/12/12_5_2.gif (http://www.smileycentral.com/?partner=ZSzeb001_ZRxdm473YYUS)I started this for Christmas Eve, but was wondering if we can do this again for all the men & women away from home this Easter defending our Country. A single candle Easter evening to say "we love you , we're thinking about you & thank you".

We do it every holiday, one single candle in the window for those serving our country & on in memory of those gone. 3 others famlies on our street do it with us, so it's nice.Nice idea...some people here have candles during the holidays out their window already.

mammaduke, What a wonderful thing to do and to ask others to join you in!
Being retired military, I appreciate the sentiment. I keep a lighted candle glowing, and always will.
Thanks again for your efforts!

For Memorial Day, I will continue this idea.
We are having a Neighborhood-Wide Block Party - with patriotic decorations and flags. I will get a candle for one of the tables, and put a little sign beside it. I think it will add deeper meaning and appreciation to everyone who is there. Maybe it will inspire the parents to talk to their children about the meaning behind the holiday.
