Does anyone out there have a quick, convienient way to hang decorations and x-mas lights indoors? I'm looking for something other then a hammer and nail.

Thanks

Well, we usually just use stuff that's already there. Such as rails on stairways, the top of curtans, and the molding around doors. But if you want to hang lights where there's nothing of the sort, you can pick you up some of those M3 hangers (I think that's what they're called) that you use to hang stockings. These stick and hold great, and you can take them down after the season without any damage to your wall. You can just pick these up at Wal-mart or another store and they're cheap. A great way to save money and your walls.

I use paper clips stuck between the molding and wall around the arches and doorways. I lay the lights over the top of my cabinets with greenery. Just please make sure you use indoor lights as they don't get as hot as outdoor lights and less likely to start a fire. The M3 are really good.

I usually do what lightitup does. I lay my lights anywhere where I can take advantage of. Mantals, railings, moldings, doorways, breakfronts, knobs etc.

I usually use whatever is there, also...railings, etc. I have the M3 hanging things and they work great. I put them on my doors to hang wreaths.

For a Christmas fanatic, I am a bit slow. What's an M3? Does BMW make it? :-o

Those 3m fasteners are actually very good. I used them a few years ago on white walls and they left no marks after the fact (I think I had to wipe the area with a wet cloth after). They make them in the form of plastic hooks that are fastened to the wall with a special type of double faced foam tape. When stuck to the wall a small piece of the "tape" sticks out of the bottom of the fastener so that when its time to take them down, you pull the foam tab straight down and off it comes. I remember seeing a bunch of sizes. Also, since they've been around for a few years now, I think that you can get "generic" non-3M versions that may save you some bucks (for those of you that thought I worked for 3M...LOL  )

Walmart sell the 3m for 2.50 and you get 1 large up to 18 small ones. I actually use the small ones on my vinyl siding outside to put up my lights cause they are clear and it doesn't make my house look dirty like some of the clips they sell do.

They must be good if they can be out in the elements and still do the job
