I haven't had much of a Christmas season so far, to be honest with you. Things have been so busy for me that I haven't had much time to do the traditional stuff at all. But that changes tonight.
We were bummed a few weeks back to learn we didn't get tickets to the largest Christmas concert in North America, the annual Mormon Tabernacle Choir Christmas (http://www.lds.org/events/info/0,8197,726-1-638,00.html) concert in Salt Lake City. We've gone every year for the past seven years and it has become a cherished part of our holidays.
The event has become more and more popular each year. This year more than 1 million requests were sent in for tickets, which are given away for free. Seeing that only about 80,000 tickets were available, our chances were small and sure enough we lost out on the ticket lottery.
Until today I was surprised by a co-worker with 8 tickets -- so tonight, in fact, within the hour we leave, all the family gets to go.
I feel like my Christmas season is finally beginning!
