I use both Merry Christmas AND Happy Holidays. Just doesn't sound right using one or the other.

I vote for Merry Christmas.
I do too, but it seems as though the "silent majority" is getting beat out on issue after issue these days.
Hmm, maybe they shouldn't be so silent..:?

I'm about to spend this upcoming Christmas season in a corporate office. (I worked from home last Christmas and was in school before that). I'm nervous that I'll get disciplined for saying "Merry Christmas" to co workers. I completely understand if someone is Jewish, Muslim, Agnostic or Atheist and doesn't celebrate the holiday. But if I don't know that you don't celebrate Christmas and I wish you a Merry Christmas?? Should that get me in trouble?!

Probably the reason why 60% chose "happy holidays" cards over "merry Christmas" were because they had friends, colleagues, aquaintances, etc that they possibly did not want to offend. And since the media has turned this into such a huge deal, the average American rather save face and be safe with "happy holiday" cards than cause personal controversy and offend someone with the "merry Christmas" dilemma. Otherwise, had the media not turned this into such a huge deal, people would probably buy "merry Christmas" cards hands down as that is what they associate Christmas greatings with. It is only recently that all this stuff as come about...which is rather insipid if you ask me.

I say Merry Christmas, only because of the "audience" I have. If I had a lot of friends and family that didn't celebrate Christmas then I would wish them a Happy Holiday. It doesn't seem like a big deal to me to say Happy Holidays.

Ah yes... The debate. I heard from my friends in England that they're not allowed to say Merry Christmas, just Happy Holidays.
Well, Merry Christmas, I say!

I've always been more of a "Merry Christmas" kind of a gal but, then again, I think that we've gone way too "pc" and that if someone is offended by a 'Merry Christmas' then that's really their issue.

the agenda is to leave "Christ" out of Christmas, so they say Happy Holiday which can apply to any holiday. To me it's not a Christmas greeting.
Hey if people don't want to say it that's fine, we are a free country but don't tell me I can't say it, this is a free country.

i prefer merry christmas to happy holidays. My issue is when people try to force others to use happy holidays. Let people pick what they want
