Kids from around the world are flooding the North Pole with mail for Santa.
"We are having a hard time keeping up with it all," admitted Elf Hugo Slavia, Santa's Postmaster. "Kids use email now and many send more than one message to Santa. We love email here at the North Pole because it doesn't cost anything to send but it does cause kids to write more letters than normal. They get a little impatient when Santa cannot respond."
Please remember that Santa sees every piece of mail that comes to the North Pole. He just cannot answer each one individually. There are just too many of them.
Many kids write wanting Santa's phone number, too. But Santa does not have a phone. And if he spent all of his time on the phone he would not be able to prepare what needs to be done for Christmas. So please be patient and understanding with Santa at this time of the year.
Elf Hugo is concerned as well because he does not have enough elves working in Santa's mailroom right now. "So many elves are out sick right now," said Elf Hugo. "We will keep working hard and maybe when everyone gets better we will get caught up."
