Not yet but I haven't been out shopping yet either. I usually start shopping for Christmas right after Christmas...makes it easier on the pocketbook if you spread it out all year round!

I normally do start buying couple gifts here and there when I find a good gift and a good price but I will not right now. I was just laid off from my job last week due to budget and money isses so right now I am looking for a new job. Once I do and our money issues are good then I will start shopping for next Christmas.

I haven't bought anything, but I do have my eye on a couple of things. If they lower the price enough, I will buy them for next Christmas.

I have purchased gifts for 2008 already. When I was shopping last week, some christmas things were 70% off so I couldn't pass that up. I was able to buy for a couple of family members and teachers at my son's school. I just love a good sale. I have also purchased my wrapping paper and cards for this year.

I have also purchased my gift wrap and cards for this year. I generally shop throughout the year, whenever I see something I pick it up and store it away.

Okay, slightly confused by your last post but it's probably just me!!

No, is the short answer. Given the fact I was still buying on Christmas Eve this year, I don't hold out much hope either!! Every year, my intentions are good. My road to Hell will win awards, it's so well paved!!!!!!!!!

Sorry, my last two posts were a mistake and I am unable to delete them. I didn't mean to post the same message twice. My computer froze and I didn't realize the first one went through. My last post was just a mistake and I can't delete it. I am sorry for the mess and confusion.

That happens JollyElf. Been there done that too! Also, does anyone know how or if it's even possible for members to delete something? Or is it just an adminastrator thing?

I've bought a few things, but nothing major. Sales are a girl's (or a guy's) best friend.

We recently picked up some clothes for the kids that were marked down 75% off. May use an outfit each for their birthdays but the rest will be wrapped up for Christmas. Also picked up a couple cute shirts for our soon to be little niece for a buck a piece. Now just need to find a pair of jeans and she will be set for Christmas and a small ornament and then I can cross her off my christmas gift list.

The best sales though are on Black Friday aren't they? That's the only prob I see but I rather still buy all year...u spread the $ out more and you spend more overall without feeling it since u spend some each $ instead of all at once.

I also prefer to shop year round. The gifts don't feel as rushed, and it doesn't hurt our budget as badly either.

Yes, I have bought gifts for 2008. Plus I have found gifts I bought for 2007 and hid so well that I didn't find them in time for last Christmas. I hope to be better organized this year! :tree:

For family, we usually do gift cards and I cant buy those now or ill use them lol. My kids are too picky and they keep changing their minds on what they like...The MUST have the "cool" thing and you know, those change every week! So I just wait. I like shopping on Black Friday anyways, so thats when I get the most stuff.

I have lots of "goodies" in my gift closet and I begin to buy gift cards whenever I can ESPECIALLY grocery store ones for buying the holiday meal and groceries for baking!!! I have learned the hard way that the credit card ones start charinging $15 a month off your card after 6 months....My poor sis bought me these and I didn't use it up in time and only was able to spend $12 on a $50 card. I told her not to buy them next time!!!

Ihave some gifts brought, some items crocheted, and I have a gift card to Wal-Mart for $75 and a $5 one to Dollar tree. Plus some cash put back from each of our pay. Have had to get into it twice and make it back up. Trying to do a gift card of $25 a month. Will buy it quarterly for $75. Will get another one at Wal-Mart and then Krogers for 2.

It is so timely that I found this thread. My coworker and I were just discussing this yesterday. He said he too oftens buys a gift and then cannot wait to give it so he does!!
I have started shopping. It is June so all the stores have their fall and winter stuff really cheap!! I buy it now way off price and then I can give the kind of gift I want to but at the price I can afford. I got my brother a $65 Claiborne shirt for $9.98. I was also at Bath & Body works and they are having a HUGE sale. I got products for 75% off. Can you say stocking stuffers?
I love a bargin!!!!:))

I started right after last Christmas when Michael's had everything Christmas at 75% off. I got some great teacher gifts for 25 cents! I've purchased and given my son his present - new digital camera which he needed for a school trip and the one he wanted was more than I inteded to spend for bday so he asked for it to be christmas also. And my daughter, well, I won a contest that the prize was six horses & six dolls plus a stable. She's going to love it. I bought earring for her also (might be bday since its december also) from www.silverjewelryclub.com (http://www.silverjewelryclub.com) where you only pay $6.99 shipping.

I do buy presents for birthdays during the Christmas period while sales are on... but I haven't really shopped online but there are plenty more sales online than in-store really? As 1000 people in the UK could be on an online shop whereas only 100 in shop...

That's my main reason for shopping all year. Money. It don't feel in a pinch when I buy my gifts throughout the year.
