Actually I was the first one up, made coffee and got dressed by 8 am. The other adults followed and we sat and waited for the grandchildren to get up.

I think it was 8:30 in the morning. I was the first to get showered and dressed! We planned on opening gifts at 10:00. My college aged kids agreed to the time. Alice came up at 9:52....just out of bed saying her alarm didn't go off...could we hold off until 10:30. Looking at her, there was no choice. She wasn't going to let me take the traditional family picture looking that way! LOL She was good. She was back up at 10:15. I videotaped and took pictures. Interesting. I have yet to watch the video but the pictures are fun!

I think after all the reporting where Santa was, I went to bed about 1:00 am. I didn't get up til 9:30. Then we opened presents, cleaned the house and went and saw a movie. It was rather nice.

:tree:At first I got up at 6am, but stayed in bed TRYING to get more sleep. Hubby was awake before me, tending to the wood burning stover. Finally I got out of bed at 7:45. My husband made coffee, and we opened the presents my sisters gave us. WE opened a few presents from eachother, then took showers and got dressed. WE finished opening presents, then I made breakfast. My step sons were sleeping through all this, but luckily for them, woke up just in time to have ahot breakfast with us.

Well, we didn't get home from the IL's on Christmas Eve until after midnight so I was hoping to sleep in. However, at about 6:00 am my DH woke me up "looking for the antacid". Once he had me awake, he said "let's open presents". I fussed and told him I was tired and that we should sleep a bit more because we had a busy day ahead of us.

Well, wouldn't you know it, DH drops right back off to sleep and I COULDN'T! I tossed and turned until about 7:30 when I finally gave in and woke him up. :-?

My son didn't wake up until 8:30 which is unusual for him. My husband and I were up waiting for him to get up. I kept checking on him to make sure he was ok. After he woke up, my teenage daughters heard him and got out of bed. It was early for them. LOL

For the past couple of years my wife has had to wake me up. I get very excited about Christmas and end up staying up half of the night...but I am one who loves my sleep and is sort of a grumpy person when being stirred from a deep sleep. That's not to say that I love waking up early to open presents, but I love sleep as well.

When I was a kid, I'd wake up at 4am to see what Santa brought. My son is not old enough to do that yet, but I'm sure I won't mind that when he gets to that point...or will I?

To be honest, it depends on how late I stay up wrapping presents!!! This year, because of Gingerbug's wonderful organisational skills, I plan on sitting with a glass of something festive with everything beautifully presented under the tree, keeping up with Santa watch on here.

There's still time for this to happen...........!!!!!!

Well christmas of 07 I woke up at about seven thirty-ish.
Year of 06 I woke up at six thirty-ish.
Year of 05 I woke up at four thirty-ish.
Yeah I was to excited for christmas and I was only like ten or eleven.
Now I want to sleep in on every day of the year.

Even as a grown woman with no children in my family....I wake up at like 6! Just to watch the Yule log! I go out into the living room with the tree and cuddle up on the couch with a blanket and watch the Yule log on the tv as the classic Christmas music plays behind it. I stare at the Christmas lights and take in Christmas morning before everyone wakes up.

After entertaining a family of roughly 40 people at my place on Christmas Eve I still get up at 5:30 Christmas morning. I guess so that I can enjoy the entire day opening gifts I like to save for this day, and just lying around watching holiday movies all day in my pj's while going through the news paper for the after Christmas sales.
