Just gobble them up, washed down with properly sweetened ice tea (never coffee!)."

The old Crown is slipping - forgot to post the count yesterday!
(Not enough sleep, I guess. Or maybe those coffee fumes are affecting me)
No matter. The count will just drop by 2 today!

Days to the Season: 302
Days to Christmas Day: 344
(Two days to Milestone #1!)

Colder yet. We were at 25 this morning......and the precipitation is still predicted for tomorrow. We just don't know its form, yet.

Have a Wonderful Wednesday.
It's the "peak of the week". From this summit, you can see all the way to the weekend!

I lived in a wonderful fantasy for a short while this morning....woke up thinking it was FRIDAY...tumbled downstairs, made coffee, turned on the computer and read these words from Crownster's Countdown...from this summit, you can see all the way to the weekend"...POP!! My fantasy bubble disappeared. It's....Wednesday, oh...ok.

A beautiful Wednesday...bright sun, above freezing today.

Hey Scoobe, guess what I'm making this week-end? Does the word GOBBLE mean anything to you? Oh Yum!

Good evening! It was a beautiful (but cold) day here in Ohio...winter weather supposed to be movin in tonight!!!

Cedar - I didn't get to see any of the game last night, but from what I hear it was a good one (besides the outcome ;-)) Congrats to you on the MSU win!!

I woke up yesterday & thought for sure it was Friday!! What a let down when you realize "it's only TUESDAY..."

I started watching "Beyond Tomorrow" last night! Anybody ever seen it? So far it's a cute Christmas movie...I'm trying to catch the end tonight! I really need to start movies before 10 PM! Lol!! Sure could use a little snack to go with my movie...turkey sounds good....

(A note to our eager reader above. I know the milestone chart says Jan 17 is the 300 mark, but recall that this is a leap year.
Sorry folks, but we have to wait one more day this year.
No matter - an extra day to sleep, dance, hang out under the shispering pines and firs, eat fired twinkies........get zonked out on coffee)

Cold and rainy this morning with the temp at 37 when I left for the office.
The predicted frozen precip did not materialize. Since it was supposed to be freezing rain and sleet, I am happy.
Wouldn't have minded a little snow, however!
And we need the rain - lots of it!

Have a Thrilling Thursday, my friends.

This is Thursday, right? ~Hey you Nutters...Good Morning!

Turkey Feast at my place!! Bingster is bringing the Elvis Special Blend Coffee, Crownster is bringing super FOX, and the Tea, there will be the coldest beer in the cooler and mulled spice wine on the woodstove. I'll make sure there is a barn full of fresh, aromatic sweet alfalfa hay in the barn for sleepy heads zzzzzzz and lots of homemade bread for sandwiches...pumpkin pie, mince pie, chocolate cake. ~You's comin? Be Here....

Or would you rather be at the "Hannah Montana" concert? lol!!

Crownster, Bix is just dandy, he tends to gain weight this time of year too. He can be a very naughty puppy though...especially when we go out to do our chores and he slips under the paddock fence and starts "mining" for frozen golf ball...(that's horse poo)..must be like a frozen Snickers bar for dogs!! Sorry, didn't mean to make you lose your breakfast! I yell, "BIX!!!" and he drops it, giving me that look...'What did I do?' Heehee.

Tomorrow....High Five Friday! AND the 300-day milestone!! YEAH!! It's lookin' up!

Hey Cedar - I'll be there!!! I'll bring enough plaid picnic blankets for us all to sit on (unless you've a tire swing in the barn because if you do, that's where you'll find me!)

I'll have a bit of stuffing on my turkey sandwich, please! Jay, don't drop anything on your new tights and Binger - I'm impressed; I've never seen anyone balance 4 mugs of coffee AND a turkey sandwich at the same time.

Cedar et al, I have a surpise for you . . .

If you are always wishing for a White Christmas or if you experience them, but can't get enough snowy scenes then I think you'll enjoy my latest slideshow.

There are a few winter shots here from the same area I visited in the Fall.

http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y273/AuntieMistletoe/Snow%20and%20Lights/th_68480x360.jpg (http://s7.photobucket.com/albums/y273/AuntieMistletoe/Snow%20and%20Lights/?action=view&current=fe993955.pbw)

And Crown, there are a few Christmas lights and two mall displays in there too.

Just click on the image and you're set to view.

The photos were re-sized before uploading so dial-up users can enjoy them too.

 Suddenly, I have a craving for a turkey sandwich, anyone know where that stems from? Hmmm? I wonder.

Good Evening Everyone.

Still holding at 6 decorated houses on the way home. We're still hanging in there.

We are celebrating Mrs.Eagle's birthday on Sunday, and being the well trained husband that I am, I asked her where she would like to go for dinner. She said that she'd like to stay home and make a TURKEY DINNER instead of going out, and have the family over at our house. I don't know what to say . . . . . . except, GREAT !!! Awww, shucks, Edge. Ye makes me blush!
Just call me Dr. Countdown.
(I could go with Uncle Countdown or Auntie Countdown but that would rather let the cat out of the bag, wouldn't it?)

Speaking of the count:
Days to the Season: 299
Days to Christmas Day: 341
Look at that! We're under 300! Doesn't that "2" look nice?

Cold and wet here in Raleigh at this hour, but with the temp holding in the low 40's, no ice.
Snow is predicted for this afternoon but with it remaining above freezing, the roads should be OK.

Hey! Now that we have passed our first milestone, let's look at how far we are from the next one.
Oh, look! Less than a month to the 1/4 mark!
Think of it! In under a month, we will already be 25% of the way back to the Christmas Season!
(See the beauty of the Season Count?)

Note: our chart says Feb 12 is the 1/4 mark but I recalculated for leap year and rounding off, it comes out to Feb 13 this year. No matter - still barely over 3 1/2 weeks away!!

(Well, I hope that brightens everyone's day a bit.)

Edge

It does go fast...and the Season Count is a really smart idea. By the time you hit the new year, and xmas is finally over...it's already not that far from being under 300 to the season. 2 does look nice...1 will look even nicer.

Oh dear Sila, thats not so good! Although I did the same when I was younger... wasnt until it was explained to me that it was ok if I stayed out all night, as long as I let my parents know where I was, and to not expect me home until the next day, otherwise my mum would worry and not sleep until I was home!

Well, we got some snow after all, albeit not much more than a dusting. Still looks nice, though. I's a chilly 30 degrees outside now but the roads are clear.

Have a Super Sunday.

:snowball: No fresh snow since Friday morning here. The windgusts were 60km/h and the city closed access to Memorial Drive that runs along the largest of our lakes because the snow was blowing causing almost white-out driving conditions, it didn't seem nearly as bad in my part of town.

Coffee. I thought about Binger and the other coffee drinkers this morning wondering if you brush your teeth before or after your first cup (or pot) of the morning?

Which tastes better, coffee after toothpaste or coffee before?

 Oh yeah, plenty of questions like that poke at my brain now and then.

Did I wake anyone grinding those coffee beans so early?

I can only have two cups, if I have more I can't sleep at night and I get a little goofy.

Good man!!

Good Sunday everybody! We are all the way up to a whopping 8º this afternoon! Sun is shining & it sure looks prety outside - that would be inside, looking out - stick one toe out the door & you instantly know it's flippin cold out there!! We got home in the wee hours of the morning this morning (blaming that on friends...) & the thermometer in the car said 1º, wind was blowing...it was brutal!! :cold: I'm going to stay right here for now & drink my cuppa Boston Nut Cream COFFEE....MMMMMM....

Have a SUPER Sunday!!

Poem for the day: (I rec'd this today in an email...)

When New Year's Day is past and gone;
Christmas is with some people done;
But further some will it extend,
And at Twelfth Day their Christmas end.
Some people stretch it further yet,
At Candlemas they finish it.
The gentry carry it further still
And finish it just when they will;
They drink good wine and eat good cheer
And keep their Christmas all the year.

Virginia in the 18th Century.

Eek!

Someone tell me there's still time to shop and plan and stock up on Scotch Tape.

I was starting to plan my vacation requests for the year (I get 25 paid plus STATS) and it seems like everything is so close.

We have a new STAT holiday now called Family Day on the second Tues. in Feb. each year to help folks with the blahs. Before you know it, March Break will be here and Easter is early and then Christmas in July will be here (a skipped a few) and then Thanksgiving and Halloween and ... the "season will be officially underway in the countdown.

Slowly working our way through the 200's, on toward the 25% milestone barely over 3 weeks away.

We had a dusting of snow over the weekend, but I doubt more than 1/4". We are still in a rather severe drought and could have used the moisture.
But it's so dry. (Let me tell you, you know it's dry when you get out of a hot shower and there is no steam on the mirror!)

Have a Marvelous Monday, everyone!

Happy Monday, Happy Martin Luther King Day~I nearly froze my cheeks off going to the barn this morning~all of 5 degrees with wonderful wind chill of 10 below. But might reach a balmy 10 degrees by afternoon...!

When I came inside the house, I was standing at the kitchen window watching the birds at the birdfeeder when a Tufted Titmouse flew into the window and fell into the snow. I ran outside to see what happened...it was lying there, not moving, eyes closed. I brought it inside on a towel and put it next to the wood stove....1 hour 15 min later, it opened its eyes and blinked at me! I just put it outside and it flew away. Small miracles do happen! ~Here is a pic (google) of a "Tufted Titmouse".

When I saw the last episode and he woke up with her beside him - I thought it was great. She even scolded him for eating Chinese Food so soon before going to bed. That was a great ending.

~Oh yeah, I heard all of them. I remember when I was in the hospital after surgery many moons ago. I was watching Cheers and it was the episode when Kramer was trying to be a rebel because Lilith was seeing someone else at the time. Anyone remember Kramer's big rebel move was to run around the bar with a pair of scissor in his hands ("Look! I'm running with scissors!"). I had to pull the ear-piece out of my ear, I thought I was going to pop the staples, but I could still see the sight of him so I had to turn the TV away from my view. I think there's a way to test viewer's rating habits that Nielson is missing there. I guess the funniest thing is that I wasn't very rebellious and if I decided to be a little dangerous, I'd likely just run around with scissors too or walk barefoot across a gravel parking lot.

:hello: Have a super end to Monday - tomorrow is not far off.

Way to go Cedar - TTMamma

We had a few problems with birds smashing into our windows too. I think they were getting a little intoxicated from eating the old shriveled up crab apples.

I tried to help a seagull once. I was at the beach with friends, one of my brothers was there.

There was a seagull that couldn't squawk anymore and it wasn't able to fly, it had a fight with another bird. I decided to rescue it. So I used my beach towel to wrap him up and started to carry him home. I knew a bird lady and she would take care of him.
All my friends told me to leave it alone, it might have rabies, but I didn't listen to them.
I heard one of them yell, "if it dies in your arms you're a murderer."
I continued on my way. I stopped by my cousin's place it was on the way. She wouldn't let me use her phone or call my mom. She said I shouldn't go around messing with dirty birds.
I stomped off up the hill (my house was half a mile from the beach) and when I got inside, I yelled for my mom.
I placed the towel and the bird on the dining room table.
(You can imagine my mother's face, when she saw that.) Still, she saw the look on my face and didn't mention the table. I said, "you've got to call the bird lady, he's going to die!" As she searched for the number, I explained how I discovered him.
I tried to give him some water from a medicine dropper, but his head turned to the right and he slumped and went still. I started to cry. "I'm a murderer, I've killed it!" My mother tried to comfort me, "honey, he was dying, you didn't kill him".
So we headed off in the car to the bird lady's house to see if we could bury him in her yard.

I'm glad your story had a happier ending than mine. Needless to say, my mother probably used an entire can of Pledge to clean the dining room table before we sat down for dinner.

A wet, cool one this morning for the commute in to work with the temp at 39. Supposed to hit the low 50's by this afternoon, though. A brief break before cooler weather returns again.

Always a sin when someone so young loses his or her life...But Cedar is right...Sometimes I spend way too much time comparing my insides to others' outsides...They look great and have lots of cash but they are just like you and I when it comes to life's challenges...I feel for the poor daughter that he had with Michelle Williams, I believe her name is Matilda...This is the kind of thing that can really scar a person for life...Especially the way the media uncovers every blemish and indescretion. God Bless you Mr. Ledger, and your family.

Three weeks to 25%...that is so cool...Almost time to pull out the lights!

Happy Wednesday to all in MMC-land!!!

~Good Morning Friends~

Well said Jay.

Hi Rennster!! I was wondering about you. I have stacks of seed catalogs. One catalog has a *New* pumpkin I want to try to grow. It's called "Full Moon" and it's a large size white pumpkin.

Speaking of full moons, there will be one tonight!

Good morning gang! :hi: Well, my boss is back today...oh joy!! Lol!

Rennabelle, good to hear from you....I can't wait to start planting my tomato & pepper seeds! I always get so antsy for that time of year when I can plant the 1st things out in the garden (onions, lettuce, radish, etc.) My hubby gets tired of hearing "did you till the garden yet??" It will be here b/f we know it! I have seed catalogs galore this year - something to look at & help me get through January & February!

Speaking of full moon....my hubby called last night on his drive to Louisville & said it looked like it was close to being a full moon...he said everything was so bright! I'll have to tell him...just wait till tonight!!

Have a great hump day!!!

That dream sounds like it's for the birds. But I liked the part about......well........you know.

I've had a similar dream but it was about a ship afloat on an ocean of coffee. Binger was at the helm with some nautical outfit on and wearing a Folger's coffee can for a hat. They suddenly yelled "brace for collision"! When I looked forward, all I could see was this giant coffee bean looming up out of the fog. Just as we were about to strike it, Binger yelled "man the grinders!" and I woke up.
WOW!
(When I got up, I had to have a BIG glass of iced tea to calm myself down.)

Goodmorning Everyone !

I woke up this morning to 0 degrees . . . . a little chilly ! We got a couple of inches of Snow last night, and it looks great. It's my day off, so I put on a pot of coffee and was all set to come to the boards when I found a little note that I had made for myself of some music recommendations by Crown. Apparently I shuffled it somewhere and only now did it surface. Soooooo, off to amazon I went. In the Christmas mood 1 and 2, and a couple of Percy Faith's are on the way. Unfortunatly so is a whole bunch of other stuff, to the tune of about $250 . . . . . . Maybe Mrs.Eagle won't notice it on the charge card. Yeah, right. My video/music collection needed a lift. That's my story and I'm stickin' to it!

Christmas still ain't over, I counted 4 housed left with their Christmas lights still on (not counting the ones that convert their display to Valentines). And I still have about 6 bottles of Egg Nog coffee creamer left. If I use it sparingly, I maybe could make it last until . . . . . April (?).

Suggested song for this morning: Johnny Mathis - It's beginning to look a lot like ChristmasSuggested song for tonight: Enya - Silent Night

House work to do and places to go . . . . Later!!!

cheesy That reminds me of the time my brother and I and a chum of ours were hanging out down at the Toronto Harbourfront and walking around the sail boats and such singing the Love Boat theme. I don't think we disturbed anyone, but a few elderly tourists turned down their hearing aids. Go figure.

I see the Opera as a flight that takes us to our cruise destination and the land of Java and Nod.

HiyaRenna!

Can one very truly have enough caffeine? Ohh that is very simple....... can one ever dance the paus du lux too much? Can one ever sing too much Dusty Springfield? Can one ever gaze over with a staunch blue and green plaid? Can one ever count the lights of Chi-Town too many times? Can one ever dance with a Toyal candian Mountie too many times? Pleaseeeee.. the answer to all these questions may be found right here... same bat channel...

cheesy Just caught up on everything since my last post.

Welcome, Dom (not to be confused with Dominick)!

Oh Sila, that reminds me of the time I was on my lunch break and I was watching two dragonflies "playing tag" (they were copulating) and I said to myself, "ah there's some nature for you" and then POOF one of the dragonflies was gone. I never even saw the frog until it's tongue flicked it's lasso and one of the dragonflies had to find a new mate.

:hello: Speaking of Zzzzzzzzzzzz's ...

I had an odd dream Thursday night. Not sure why, but I was dreaming the song "Three Coins in the Fountain" quite loudly as if it was playing at nearly full volume on the TV (or radio) and then I saw credits (still dreaming) for Pennies from Heaven, but the stars were not in Pennies from Heaven, it was the cast and crew from Holiday Inn.

:-? What's with that?

Oh to live in this brain of mine, you have no idea.
Perhaps you'd like to walk through it once, but I advise you to "Streak" through instead, it can pretty nutty in there.

Geesh! I had to mention "Streak", now "The Streak" will be in my head or my dreams.

"Don't look, Ethel!"

Wow! Freud would have to work overtime to figure that one out. At least the Holiday Inn part shows a Christmas connection.
(Perhaps our coffee-drenched friend can work part of that into their next opera.)

Cold again outside with the temp at 31. At least it's sunny!

Have a Super Sunday, my friends!
