Ah!
There's no doubt the cold can get you down over time.
It works on you at both a physical and psychological level.
For me, cold has alway symbolized death. I prefer it nice and warm!

Never done "chat" in my life - don't even know how!

Theres a button on the homepage here that takes you there.. we have to meet there some time- Jay can crack his jokes and Cedar can sing some Dusty and Auntie can give us recipes and Maureen can tell us about her latest plaid.... hey get better my friend... the countdown would collapse without you! Maybe you should lay down and take a nap
(snicker.. giggle.. snort.. chortle...)- Have a good Sunday friend..... may we always meet in "real time"

Good afternoon everyone!
I didn't get a chance to post this morning. Was busy and on the go. Wanted to say hello to everyone and hope you are having a relaxing and lazy Sunday. The weather here was nice today. A little breezy but almost 50 out! The snow is melting away. We do have some slush here and there and it makes the roads damp and wet but less and less everyday as it continues to warm up.
Was going to take little one to go and see Alvin and the chipmunks but she is now going with a friend.
So I will find something to do while she is away. I should also be in chat a little later if any of you care to join us die-hards!
Have a good one!

Morning All,

A chilly foggy start to the day here in SE england, but the sun is trying to burn through the fog as we speak...

So, where did the weekend go? Anybody know? Why does the weekend always go by more quickly than just two random week days?!

Anyhoo, should hopefully find out some news on my house move this week... fingers crossed there are no more questions from our buyers solicitors...

Have a good monday everyone!

So, where did the weekend go? Anybody know?
Don't know, Scoobie. I only knows it never comes back.

And speaking of weekends, we have now moved one weekend closer to our Christmas Season:
Weekends to the Season: 41 (Hey! That's not so long!)
Days to the Season: 290
Days to Christmas Day: 332

Another cold one at 28 degrees for the Monday morning commute.
Lots of sun, though, and no wind.
Should be a nice day for a quick walk, later.

Have a Marvelous Monday, all my Christmas Comrades!

I think Friday will be a big day as we turn the calendar out of Jan and realize we won't be able to hit Jan again till we go through an entire Christmas season! That's sweet!

What a great way to think about it!! Good luck to you with your someone special. I hope it all works out for the best for you!

I got an email from a friend today saying she has the winter blues so bad. That got me thinking again how I just don't have them this year. I am loving this ~ being all cozy inside, sipping some hot java, watching movies, I could use some snow, but other than that I'm thinking this has been a pretty good winter so far. January is flying by!! Once we get a few warm days I'm sure I'll start getting spring fever really bad, but for now I'm going to enjoy the cold!! :)

Speaking of spring fever, I'm thinking about starting some tomato & pepper seeds this afternoon.... It will be garden season b/f we know it!!

Have a great afternoon all!!!

I didn't work today because I ended up taking DD to the doctor because she has an ear infection. She is doing fine thou thank goodness. It's been a lazy day here. You know, the last couple of days I've kinda lost that Christmas spirit, but coming back onto these boards brings it aaaallll back again! Thanks to everyone for keeping the spirit alive all year round!

Anyhoo, bright and sunny here in SE England. A bit chilly, but not too bad... day of exciting meetings (!?) at work today (yawn) best get that coffee brewing!

Good Tuesday morning!! Looks like a dreary Ohio day today! Supposed to have rain, thunder & wind today, then snow & wind tonight & tomorrow! Right now it's 42º but supposed to be 13º by tonight!! No wonder why everybody's sick! ;-)

I was home from work yesterday...coughing, fever, sore throat, but I'm much better today, still coughing but fever is gone! Anyway....since I was home I watched The Santa Claus Brothers. It was alright...pretty cute! I started to watch The Christmas Visitor but decided I should get SOMETHING done, so I made supper for last night & tonight. I have seen that movie before, but I will watch the rest of it sometime this week, hopefully!

Still waiting on house moving news... I am getting sick and tired of it all... we accepted the offer on our place back in October, and we still havent moved! I was talking to a friend of mine who lives in Missouri, and he said when he bought his house over there it took six weeks! *grumble grumble grumble* Hopefully we will exchange contracts this week, and will be able to move next week....

Anyhoo, enough of my rambling....time for a cup of coffee and a choc chip muffin!

:hello: Happy Hump Day! Speaking of Humps - how's Carl the Camel?

Talk about crazy weather . . . one side of the city was fighting rain and strong winds, the rain turned to snow and the school buses were cancelled then by around 2 pm the other side of the city got hit with the mess while the sky in my end showed blue patches, but still strong winds persisted. They stopped the city bus run to the other side of town, I don't think they've ever done that before.

Thankfully work isn't far and my jaunt to and from is fairly simple, still I almost wound up at a Starbucks in Michigan, but another wind current tossed me back my way just in time for supper.

Today was a longgggggggg day at work, tomorrow another one and Friday - well that's another busy one - I'm not saying Monday and Tuesday weren't busy, but I had time to take a few breaths.

Catch y'all on the flip side of the storm.

Today, I was humming a Christmas tune and didn't even realize it until someone else started humming along.

:snowball: So, I leave you with the sounds in my head . . .

Hum Hum Hum Hum Hum Hum - okay it wasn't that bad, I was it was more like Jingle Bells, Jingle Bells . . .

Good Morning, Good Morning, Good Morning!

I hope everyone in My Merry Christmas land is well, happy and warm on this chilly last day of January.
The temp was 28 when I left for the office and I was again glad I threw a sheet over the windshield of my car last night - no ice scraping to do.

Days to the Season: 287
Days to Christmas Day: 329

We are moving right along to our 2nd milestone, the 25% mark, now under 2 weeks away. Incredible!

Speaking of Humps - how's Carl the Camel?
Ah! I wondered when someone would ask about Carl.
Big news there. Our dear triple-humped friend decided he wanted to visit the land of his heritage, Saudi Arabia, and right after Christmas, off he went. Said he wanted to "discover his roots" and track down rumors of other 3-hump relatives in his family tree. He sends periodic e-mails and seems to be having a good time. (Just yesterday, he told me he LOVES the warm weather and frolicking in the desert sand)
As for when he will be back - who knows?

Have a Thrilling Thursday, one and all!

Crown said: Yes, it's a chilly, rainy one outside with the temp right at 40.
However, the weather service promises a clear, sunny weekend with temps in the 50's or 60's. I'll hold them to it!

WOW! 50's or 60's...I could get used to that.
Outside my window right now, a white-out blizzard ~ complete with severe weather warnings, school closings, freeway pile-ups, sirens....but hey, that's winter in Michigan!

Happy Friday the 1st!!

Thanks Holiday... the whole sale/buying process has been going on for almost 4 months now... and thats after losing our first buyer! I hadn't quite realised how stressful moving can be! Not looking forward to the packing and unpacking aspect... but cant wait to get in and settled!

Only 2 more hours until the weekend begins for me! *ducks from incoming projectiles as some of you are just starting the day* ;-)

Have a great weekend everyone!

Sounds like your getting the weather that was predicted for us!! Minus the sirens & pile ups of course, it sounds fun!! I just wish everybody could stay home, warm & cozy & watch it snow on days like that....unfortunately it doesn't work that way! :-? I even had my "snow candle" burning last night (I always burn cappuccino brulee when it's snowing) & it still didn't snow!!

Schools are closed here today too b/c of the ice. It wasn't bad coming into work this morning though...lots of slush. I'm sure the back roads aren't pretty!!

Good Morning All...Just got little one off to school about an hr. ago. And my house is in order and now I am kicked back drinking a little coffee and listening to Wham! (Remember them?*L*) Wake me up before you go go....loved that tune. Our weather doesn't look to bad today. Blue skies and the hi will be about 33 with an overnight lo of 19. It is calling for some rain later today and possibly some snow flurries this evening. I so can't wait to dig out my shorts, tanks, flip flops and swimsuit and be able to head to the Yellowstone River for some good times. I hope you all have a wonderful friday.

It stopped snowing here early this morning, after about 10inches or so. The official count was 7.5 inches. It sure looks nice. I'm still staying indoors for another day or so, but my son Jon went out for about 3hrs and cleared the snow. Next big snow, it's my turn.

Another frosty Good Morning to everyone!
We stand at 35 in Raleigh at this hour, but it's bright and sunny with the promise of 60's by this afternoon.

"The Shipering Pines". Hmmmmm...... Sound a bit like an old roadside motel to me, rather than a drive-in restaurant.
Do you oldsters out there remember them? Little motels along the old 2-lane highways - kind of like the Bates Motel in Psycho, except they were usually brick instead of wood.
Another disappearing piece of Americana.
In fact, let's do an internet search.....
Ah! Sure enough, there is a Whispering Pines Motel!
(Actually, several)

Good Saturday afternoon! You guys are too much!!

Iron Eagle...send me some of that snow! I bet it's beautiful! The ice here ended up getting pretty nasty last night! We went out to celebrate my nieces (also my Goddaughter) engagement. When we went to pick up my sis & bil to go to the party we ended up in their front yard!! Lol! Their lane is on a hill...we had the car in drive, hubby had his foot on the gas & we were going backwards! Kinda fun!! :D But my nephew (who has had his license for 2 whole weeks now) wrecked their Explorer last night leaving his basketball game. He's alright & that's the main thing! AND my Dad almost fell on his keester in the parking lot leaving the party...thank heavens my sister was behind him & grabbed ahold of him. He sure doesn't need to fall & break any bones! (he's 80) So it was a bitter sweet night...engagements & accidents...

Well, I'm off to plan a wedding shower & then to a basketball game for my Moms "Birthday Basketball Bash" Have a Super Saturday!!!

Binger...Tights are ready...and Man are they tight...But Ballet? Couldn't I do some interpretive dance with Ozzy Osbourne's "Iron Man" blasting in the background? Or perhaps one of the dances done by Bing and Danny Kaye in "White Christmas"??? Or, at worst...Perhaps a fine visual performance of "Hocus Pocus" by Focus? I believe that I can even yodel if necessary...I know I like to eat them so...

Days to the Season: 284
Days to Christmas Day: 326
We are but another step closer to our next (25%) milestone, now a mere 10 days away. Time's a flyin'!

Another sunny morning here in Raleigh, the "City of Oaks".
It's a pretty nice 48 outside at this hour and is supposed to reach the mid to upper 60's by this afternoon. Beautiful!

Well, none of the teams I follow made it to the Super Bowl, but I'll still watch the game, of course. I also predict a New England victory - this is just their year to make history and I don't think they will be denied.

Have a "Super" Sunday, all. (That certainly works out well for today, doesn't it?)

Good morning good people...First off, let's not write the Giants off completely...This game is the Patriots game to lose, they have all the pressure. The Giants are playing better than they have in years, and they will NOT go down without a serious business fight. Hopefully this will be a good game unlike the Super Bowls of days gone by that begin as a blow out and end with humiliation for the losing team...I predict a close game, a choke by the Pats in the third quarter and a win for the Giants by 3 points...

Now, dear Binger, there are not alot of dance fans at the house where I'm going to watch the game. So I'll not be able to where my brand new, larger sized blue and red tights. But I'll have them on in spirit! And if I have a moment where no one is looking, perhaps I can strike a pose...Vogue...vogue...Vogue...Everybody's doin' a brand new dance now...C'mon baby, do the locomotion...I saw the Grand Funk boys a few weeks ago...And while only two of the members are original, it was a fun show with tons of energy...Little Eva would have been proud...

A great Sunday to all!!! Enjoy the game, drink lot's of coffee, eat lots of chips and have the Alka Seltzer ready before bed!

Good Morning Friends!
Went to bed early last night and have been up since 5am. Looked outside and noticed we had a skiff of snow and it's still snowing lightly out there. I just got little ones lunch all together for school, and a corned beef put into the crockpot for dinner this evening. Today is my daughter's 100th day of school. They will be making a 'soup' and she needs to bring 100 mini marshmellows...should be a fun day for the kids. I believe their last day of school is at the end of May. Before you know it summer will be here and I will be back to work full force. I plan to get my daughter back into swim lessons again. And also considering coaching T-Ball..did it last year with the kids and it was a blast! Can you tell I have warm weather on my mind? *L* I hope you all had a good time watching the game yesterday. I will now finish my coffee and get ready to start my day. Have a wonderful Monday all. Oh yes I almost forgot my Aunt and Uncle who live in Idaho sent me pictures of the snow storm that had hit there. I will post some pictures later today. So glad it missed me here in Montana...*L

Days to the Season: 281 (the 25% mark is 1 week from today!)
Days to Christmas Day: 323

A good morning to one and all!

Unbelievably warm weather. It was 65(!) when I got up this morning and we are supposed to set another record high in the mid-70's again like we did yesterday. I could get used to this global warming - the warmth of late spring without the usual humidity.

To those who sent greetings to Carl, he responds in kind.
While he continues to enjoy the sands of Saudi Arabia, he is always willing to jet back home to pay his fans a visit.
(That's his word - "fan" - not mine, that narcissistic camel!)
In case you are wondering how he can afford these trips, keep in mind the novelty of a 3-hump camel paves the way - he is always in demand wherever he goes. He's such a draw, the various transportation companies let him ride for free!

Well, have a Wonderful Wednesday!

Happy Hump Day!! What a dreary ol Ohio day. We have had over 4" of rain in the last 2 days! Might have to get our boat out of storage! Not right here, but one county over they've got a lot of roads closed & detours due to high water in the area! It's supposed to turn over to snow anytime now! Yesterday was almost 60 & by Sunday the high is supposed to be 10º! What a change!!

Hope you all are having a happy hump day!!

So far we have had nothing but rain, rain, rain! I don't want any of that freezing rain! UGH! They are saying tonight is supposed to be snow (was supposed to start around 6, but nothing yet) but I have a feeling the change from rain to snow is going to be some of that icky stuff! Hang in there...I hope you don't lose power!

Morning all!

Busy weekend for me, packed up most of our flat, so we're living amongst boxes at the moment! Our cat is most confused, bless him!

On top of all the packing, I was out in the garage tidying up some of my ham radio gear, went to close the garage door (the up and over type) and noticed that the garage door had come off its rails and was stuck. Anyway, in the process of trying to get the door back into place, the door came completely free and hit me in the face, just below my eye!! By this point I was running late for dinner at my parents, and had a nicely swollen cheek! Got the door back in place, and locked but still need to fix it properly before we move out!

Anyway, enough moaning from me! Hope you all have a good day!

Good Morning, fellow Christmas fiends.

Another chilly one with the temp at 31 when I got up (exactly the same reading as yesterday morning)
We might get some rain today and tomorrow - still badly needed.
The "experts" said on TV yesterday that if the current drought continues until summer, one of the key lakes that supplies Raleigh's drinking water will be COMPLETELY dry. All sorts of mandatory water use restrictions are currently in place.
And if that wasn't enough, the fire danger is quite high.

Well, bad news aside, I hope everyone has a Terrific Tuesday!

I knew there were kits but most people that I have known from Seattle and (Washington State in genreral) with dreads they never washed or combed their hair for sometime..does this "kit" speed the process or something? I couldn't image myself having dreads it's bad enough trying to get a comb through my hair (which is to my waist) with plain old bed head..*L
You should post pics. of your sons hair at a later time.

Forgive me...Scott McKenzie is still alive and living in Los Angeles with a cat named spider...Denny Doherty died in 2007...I got them confused...But Michelle Phillips still was, in fact, HOT...

The 25% Milestone has arrived!
Days to the Season: 274
Days to Christmas Day 316

Good Morning.
Hard to believe we are already a quarter of the way back to our wonderful Christmas Season.
The year is slipping away and it's only mid February!

Storms are predicted for today here in the Raleigh area.
Normally, that would be a negative but we are so dry, they will be a welcome site (as long as they are not too severe, that is!)
In fact, a little mini-hurricane would be appreciated.

Have a Wonderful Wednesday, all.
And remember - from the peak of the week, you can see all the way to the weekend!

We're a 1/4 of the way there already!?! :-D Hard to believe! Actually, it seems almost impossible that we're at the 1/4 point already. Time's a flyin right on by!!

We've got blue skies & sunshine today! It's cold out there & everything is white w/ a "crust" over the snow (from the freezing rain) but it looks beautiful!

Have a HAPPY HUMP DAY everybody!!! :D

There is a version out there in Cyberland somewhere of Robin Williams singing "Fire" doing his best Elmer Fudd impression...If you can follow all that...So Robin Williams is doing his impression of Elmer Fudd singing a Pointer Sisters song written by Bruce Springsteen...Jeez...Get me scorecard...

Yes. But he said it should have been a sheltie. (I wonder why?)
Anyway, that is one beautiful beagle!

Days to the Season: 273
Days to Christmas Day 315

On we move to our next milestone, the 1/3 mark.
And in case anyone is wondering, it is one month from tomorrow, March 15.
(I checked on the effect of leap year but it will not change that milestone)

Icy this morning. My car doors were frozen shut and I had to break them loose.
Supposed to be in the 50's by this afternoon, however.

Have a Thrilling Thursday, fellow Christmas Comrades!

(BTW, I heard that Bing attended the dog show but when they found out the trophy cup did not contain any coffee, they left.
Go figure!)

That beagle is really cute. I love watching the dog show. My girlfriend has a beagle named Bagel..*L* He is the sweetest. I want to wish you all a Happy Valentines Day! I took my daughter to school early today for buddy breakfast. They have it every year on Valentines Day for all the students and their parents. Had a nice time. I also sent my daughter flowers, balloons and a stuffed animal green frog...she's going to be so suprised. I hope everyone has a great day!
