Bah-da bah-da-da-da
Bah-da bah-da-da-da
Bah-da bah-da-da-da

Monday, Monday, so good to me
Monday mornin', it was all I hoped it would be
Oh Monday mornin', Monday mornin' couldn't guarantee
That Monday evenin' you would still be here with me

Monday, Monday, can't trust that day
Monday, Monday, sometimes it just turns out that way
Oh Monday mornin' you gave me no warnin' of what was to be
Oh Monday, Monday, how could you leave and not take me

Every other day, every other day
Every other day of the week is fine, yeah
But whenever Monday comes, but whenever Monday comes
A-you can find me cryin' all of the time

'nuff said...

 Hey, that's the song that I sing in the shower every Monday, but I quickly replace it with something more uplifting like the Hanes underwear jingles "wait 'till we get our hanes on you".

http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y273/AuntieMistletoe/ValentineKisses.gif Speaking of Valentine's Day...

I was shocked to receive a dozen long-stem roses at work on Valentine's Day. I was pretty busy all week and didn't even make it home for lunch for three days in a row so my husband surprised me.

Don't tell him, but with the cost of flowers these days (he spent about $85.00 Can. on that bouquet), I could have opted for dinner out instead, but I'm not complaining about the sentiment.

He's a sweetie for sure.

O'Malley didn't get anything extra special, some heart-shaped Luvs treats and a play-date with his kitten friend from next door.

Yip - you heard it right - O'Malley is having playdates now. Twenty minutes tops with Ringo is about all he can handle, he treats him like a little brother, but my husband has to keep an eye on him just in case the young one gets too bold, O'Malley will only put up with so much.

Good morning! Hope you are all having a great weekend! We surived another bowling bash yesterday (it was our 10th year) ~ we had 70 bowlers & a great time was had by all. I'm kinda sleepy today though. I'm trying to motivate myself to get ready & go to crop day (scrapbooking) with my Mom, sisters & neices... I don't really feel like working on a scrapbook...thinking is involved with that & I'm not in the mood to think today! They got started at 8 AM ~ I told them I for sure wouldn't be there that early! But I am going to go to see everybody & hang out for awhile. Maybe this afternoon I'll feel more like actually doing something!

It's a dreary ol rainy Ohio day today. Would be a great day for movies & napping...OR watching NASCAR!!! :D I'm so excited the Nascar season is starting again!

Sila, glad to year your Mom is alright! That's scary!

Have a Super Sunday!

:hello: We weren't celebrating President's Day here in Canada, however three provinces enjoyed a new paid holiday called Family Day.

O'Malley the cat had a play-date with his buddy Ringo, lasted about forty minutes. That's the longest visit so far I think. I've only seen them together a few times, my husband usually borrows Ringo in the morning when I'm at work.

Today was a treat watching O'Malley shadow his little buddy around. I couldn't believe the tolerance he displayed while little Ringo explored O'Malley's lair and dry kibble.

When he headed for the litter box, I said, "nope, better not try that". We used the rest of O'Malley's litter to help the elderly lady across the road get from her daughter's car to her front door - she needed it for traction - we had buckets of rain and then of course the wind gusts picked up and everything started to freeze.

Today was dull and windy, but no more rain. Hopefully it will be okay tomorrow, but the temp. is expected to drop overnight. If it all freezes we're in trouble, if not - well it'll be messy, but we'll be able to navigate with some ease.

Here that Cedar? The creek is running again. Still have a towering snowbank at the end of the road and snow everywhere, but the rain reduced it a bit.

:tree: When the wind was howling I thought for sure I heard the shispering pines calling, "Jayyyyyyyyyyyyyish". Weird wild wind.

Yeah, and it will look fantastic! I can get an even bigger tree this year, as I have an enormous space for one... we usually have a 6-7ft tree, this year I'm thinking maybe 10ft?? :-)

Days to Christmas Day 309
Single digits to the 300-day Christmas Day mark.

The temp was just below freezing when I left my condo this morning. Was glad I put a sheet over the Crown Vic's windshield as there was frost everywhere.
On the up side, we are supposed to hit the low to mid 60's for a high this afternoon - continued nice for February.
Then colder weather, however.

Our drought continues and the officials are discussing moving from "stage 2" to stage 3" water restrictions. There has also been a proposal to implement "stage 4" restrictions. What is interesting is that there is no "stage 4". We have never been at that point before and what that constitutes has yet to be written!
(Do you get the feeling that it's pretty dry around here?)

Have a good one!

Good Morning!

Gosh Crown, that sounds bad...the TreeHugger website I occasionally visit (and yes, that's the name of it!) said North Carolina is in "Exceptional drought conditions" which means the worst kind. Sounds like bathing with a cup of water and a toothbrush isn't so far fetched. Just don't ask for the Great Lakes water! "Arid-zona" keeps trying but we are fighting them off. People move to the Sunny arid desert states and then complain about the lack of water. hmmm. Funny, we are getting more snow, record amounts here this winter...I'm flying the white flag, enough already!

:snowball: Busy two weeks, finally jumped that hurdle and landed on solid ground. I finally understand a bit more how busy life was for the 100 acre wood gang, especially Pooh bear counting all the bees in the hive and for rabbit tending to his garden and worried that Tigger would come along and bounce all over it, and everyone trying to cheer up gloomy old Eeyore and making room in their forest for Kanga and Roo and then of course the time when rabbit and all of his friends and relations helped Pooh bear get unstuck.

http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y273/AuntieMistletoe/PoohGang.gif Good day today.

Okay, you might not understand that, but if you ever read A.A. Milne's stories or watched a few Disney films or made or received Winnie the Pooh, Eeyore, Piglet or Rabbit from the McCall's (sp.) pattern book - you know what I'm talking about. Life is good.

Excellent viewing, crystal clear and freezing cold...the planet Saturn was large and beautiful. I didn't take one picture Auntie! My camera didn't have the power to pull it in. Would have needed a telephoto lens... I ended up going inside and had a perfect view through the upstairs bathroom window.

Crownster, 53 is so YOUNG! (53 is the new 43 don't ya know?)

Have a Groovy one, my friends!

A chilly, wet morning here in Raleigh with 3 straight days of wonderful rain predicted.

Hopefully, our drought will be moderated a bit.

I will also see about trying to post the photo I took of the lunar eclipse Wednesday night. I don't think it will turn our too great with my little hand held 5 MP camera but we will see what developes (pun intended)

Crown and Binger I have something urgent to share...

I don't know if anyone heard it on the news, but I saw the whole thing going on via live webcam - I wouldn't have believed it if I hadn't seen it for myself. I can't imagine how that happened, but after catching up on the posts since my last visit, it all makes sense.

Now for the answer to the puzzling and on-going question ... what is the true gender of Crown and Binger ...

Sorry, I cannot say. The coffee sopping bandit and the freshly peeled off the car owner of the Crown85 (or was that 83) had their backs to the city's webcam.

Wouldn't you know it.

http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y273/AuntieMistletoe/NahNahNahNahNahNah.gif

So the mystery continues.

AuntieMistletoeDear
02-22-2008, 06:11 PM
And Binger - I don't know about Paus De Luxing and the like (I quite ballet after five visits, I was toooo shy), but I could opt for some new dance moves ...

http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y273/AuntieMistletoe/dancfroganimated.gif Coffee, how I love ya my dear, java...

If you haven't tried those moves before - be careful, if you've had more than a pot of coffee today, move fragile items and large pieces of furniture out of the way.

cheesy Not sure if my pictures turned out yet. I have to dump a bunch of photos I took a few weeks ago before I load them. It was beautiful. Not quite as orange as I thought it would get, but still great to watch. If my pictures didn't turn out, my friend is sending me the ones she took so hopefully between the two of us and Holiday, there will be a few photos of the Eclipse to view.

Merry Greeting Christmas Enthusiasts!

For those of you who've been keeping up with the "tails/tales" of O'Malley the cat over the last three years, he finally let me grab some photos of him. A few I used for new banners. He's so gorgeous! He should be in "show biz", but he has a bit of catitude that leaves him somewhat difficult to work with.

Check this out, O'Malley the Cat's rockin' Slideshow, just click on the image and viola!

Yeah, don't worry - I resized the images first before loading.

I'm off to the pet store to fetch him a new toy as a reward for performing for the camera. What a hammy cat.

A coolish 40 when I left for the office this morning. A bit foggy, too.
Now, the sun has broken out and we should have a nice day.
Had a bit of rain yesterday but our drought continues.
One of our "experts" is now claiming this is the worst drought in over 100 years for this part of NC. Another says, no, it's more like 800 years. (A 700 year variance???)
They are planning to analyze tree rings to try to determine for sure.

Have a Marvelous Monday, folks!

Afternoon all!

Had a productive weekend decorating the new house, all upstairs rooms are now freshly painted inside out, just waiting on new carpets to be fitted now. Had the carpenter out on Sunday to give us a price for laying solid oak flooring in the living room and dining room, and replacing all the old 1970's doors with new ones... so he starts in 3 weeks! We now have 3 weeks of evenings and weekends (more like just weekends!) to get the downstairs all decorated ready for the lovely oak!

Funny thing happened whilst decorating the master bedroom on Saturday. I had just finished painting the window sill, when our cat decided he wanted to go outside through the bedroom window!! Cue the cat scrabbling around on the wet paint!! He was covered in bright white gloss!! All over his paws, belly and tail!! (not to mention the state of my freshly painted sill!!) Anyway, we thought we had better try and help him get the paint off to stop him from licking it off and making himself ill, so we gave him a bath!!!! To be fair to him, he was good as gold in the bath, and didnt hiss, scratch or bite once! Anyway, we got the bulk of the paint off, and he has pulled out most of the remaining hair!!

Anyway, enough about my silly cat! 10 months today until the big day! Jan and Feb is really flying by!

Got some work done on my ham radio antenna at the weekend, and made my first contact in the new 'shack' with Finland, Germany and Italy! Trying to get the timings and frequency right to be able to talk to someone on the other side of the Atlantic! Anybody on here a ham, or have one in their family??

Busy day in the office, which is almost over (hence the reeaallly long post today!) Hope you have a good Monday!

Morning all... not much to report today, the cat has now chewed off the white paint! But he seems happy enough! Strangely, he does like water (not enough to enjoy a bath though!) Whenever my other half has a bath, the cat always sits on the edge of the bath, looking like he's going to jump in! Also for some really odd reason, he likes to sit in the sink, with the tap dripping on him... strange little cat!!

Have a groovy hump day everyone!

Days to the Season: 260
Days to Christmas Day 302 (So very close to the 300 mark!)

A frosty good morning to you!
It was 39 for my drive to work, but nice and sunny with no wind. Below freezing for tonight though.
We had a nice hard rain yesterday evening and Raleigh looks a bit refreshed. Perhaps we bought a few drought days off.

Alas, I'm at a loss for anything to say this morning.
(Maybe I should take up coffee drinking......hmmm.......no.)

Have a Wonderful Wednesday, everyone.

Our vet recommended that we use a water pistol to help train our new kittens...Maybe that's why they hate the water...although they seem somewhat enamored with toilet water as that's what they drink whenever they get the chance...What kind of a life is it when drinking out of the toilet is a treat? Just wondering...

Hello to you Cedar Baby! And Binger!!! I thought of you guys recently! Apparently a country artist named Shelby Lynne is putting out an album of Dusty Springfield songs cause she's such a fan of Dusty's! I don't have any more details but thought you'd get a kick out of that!

I was outside early this morn, and I heard bluebirds singing, which is a real sign of spring. Will spring be early this year?
I hope so, we all need an early spring.

Hello everyone! A little rain this evening here in Montana. Had a pretty good weekend. I went to the Hot Springs near Yellowstone Ntl. Park on Saturday. It was so relaxing..the weather was mild and I had a gorgeous view of the snow covered mountains from the pool area. Friday evening my laptop was acting up so I called Dell to troubleshoot the problem. Come to find out my hard drive was "toast". Luckily I had extended warranty and it was all replaced free of charge. Didn't think I could live so long without the internet..*L But I managed to stay busy to say the least. I am slowly getting busy with work again and will be in full force come spring. Also, looking forward to coaching my daughters t-ball again this year. Hope everyone is doing well?:))

Well, hump day has been and gone... tomorrow is friday, which is the 300 mark.... we will be at the 1000th post before long! (just out of interest, how does this compare to previous years?)

Anyway, hope you all have a great Thursday!

P.S: Was talking Christmas trees with my other half last night, and she too wants a really tall christmas tree this year, so it goes all the way up the middle of our staircase which is in our living room... she said it will be like the tree out of national lampoons christmas vacation :-) I'm glad to see I'm slowly getting her around to my way of thinking!!

Days to Christmas Day 301
(Yes, # 300 is tomorrow, guys!)

A cold 26 this morning for the commute.
The breeze kept up overnight, though, and we were frost free.

Noted from the paper that today is Charles Durning's 85th birthday.
Those of us Christmas movie fans will remember him as the actor who played Santa in "It Nearly Wasn't Christmas" (1989).

Have a Thrilling Thursday, everybody.
Tomorrow is Friday and day 300 to Christmas!
Then a short trip to the 1/3 Season mark in just over 2 weeks.

I know you all are sick of my concert reports but this one is one I can't keep to myself...I spent last night visiting with a certain duo from a group called Blind Faith...Eric Clapton and Steve Winwood. It was INCREDIBLE!!! Eric was on fire and Winwood's voice is as clear and strong as it was forty years ago when they recorded together!!! A great night in old NYC! My fear is that before very long, I'll have no more concerts to attend as all of my heroes will either not be touring or worse...Be dead!

Happy Friday to all the Nutter Butters, of which I am a proud, card-carrying member!!! Cedar of course being the chief cook and bottle washer of said Nutter-Butter, Inc. Now that the 300-day Christmas window has passed, on we go to our next milestone, the 1/3 Season marker, arriving in less than 2 weeks!

We stand at a sunny 44 this morning. Sixties this afternoon, then past 70 tomorrow. Beautiful! (Anyone want to move to Raleigh? Perhaps from somewhere in the cold north?)

So, the Shispering Pines is a chain, eh. That's good to hear, Bing. (I wonder if they are listed with AAA?)
Free Continental Coffee with fired twinkies and the softest mattresses this side of heaven. No sir, you can't go wrong at the Shispering Pines Motel.

Have a Super Sunday, guys!

Morning all!

I cant believe its Monday already! Busy weekend once again! I didnt do any indoor painting or decorating this weekend, as I'm getting sick to the back teeth of it!! I decided to do some work on the outside of the house.... so I jet washed our front path, and cleared some ivy from the front of the house on Saturday, then on Sunday after taking my mum out for mothers day, I jet washed our patio in the back.... didnt quite get it finished before it got cold and dark, but the difference is amazing!

Have a bit of Monday blues this morning, think I'm just too **** tired!

Anyhoo, its March already, which means we are a step closer to the season! Really looking forward to buying some new decorations and tree lights this year!!

Hope you all have a great Monday

Good Morning, All!

Welcome to March - the month when spring begins and we pass from the first third to the 2nd third of our Season count. This momentous event will occur on the Ides of March, a bare 12 days away.
And speaking of the count:

Days to the Season: 255
Days to Christmas Day 297

Looks like another busy Monday at the office, so I best get to it.

Have a Marvelous Monday, my friends!

Raleigh here I come!! Would you assist me Crown, in finding a suitable place to live? I'll be arriving with two Morgan horses and a feisty Fox Terrier.

Oh wait. It's 54 degrees this morning. Bye-bye snow. Gotta find those sandals...anyone want to join me in a rousing rendition of "Heat Wave"? !! YABBA!

There are those who believe that the words "great" and "Monday" should never be used in the same sentence and absolutely never back to back...I, of course, love Mondays...Like I love the dentist...Or flat tires...

Well I partially agree with you Jay. But somethings can't be changed...*L
I don't mind the dentist myself. After all I used to work as a dental assistant. Now going in for a haircut is a different story...*L
So I hope everyone has an Ok Monday.. cheesy

After tomorrow, we will be down to single digits to the 1/3 marker. Moving right along!

Good Morning, Good Morning!
The better issue around here today is whether tonight will be good. Severe weather is predicted, possibly with 60 mph winds.
(March is NC's most tornado prone month)

Have a Terrific Tornado Free Tuesday, friends.

It is quite beautiful and vast.
About 10 years ago, my family and I visited the glacier park area. It's well worth the visit if you like nature.
Another thing I remember is that the interstate highways had NO posted speed limit - the signs just said to drive at a "prudent" speed. Now that's what I call "wide open" country!

Maybe I've jsut lived in the New York area for too long...I'd just like to visit a place with fewer people where if I walk down the street we're not so crammed into the cross walk that I can over hear the next guys thoughts...And Prudent...Hmmm...I have a feeling my Hyundai doesn't go that fast...We love nature...In fact hiking was one of the ways that my wife and I got to know one another...Just walking in the woods...Me making up stories and her laughing...I guess we need to get out there sometime soon!!!
