Good afternoon! Bing, I hope you're alright! My nephew lives near Richmond...I'm going to have to do a check on him too! How devastating!!

Right now it's a sunny 50º! Just hung clothes on the line & my fingers are pretty darn cold! But from the inside looking out, it looks beautiful & if you're in a protected area outside, it feels really nice, but that air is pretty nippy!! 31º tonight! What is up with that???? :cold: My Dad said he is going to cover some of our garden. Thanks Dad!!

I made some pineapple cookies last night that are mighty tasty. I got the recipe from a local grocery stores website, but they have a note that it came from christmas-cookies.com! I'll post the recipe over in the recipe section!

Have a great Tuesday!!!

Good afternoon everyone, sunny here with temps only in the 50's but at least I could get the lawn mowed. Calling for a frost here too Holiday so will have to cover my bleeding hearts & roses.

Hope everything is ok Bing & that you all are safe & sound. Make sure you let us know as soon as you can.

Have a great day everyone as we get closer to another month gone in 2 days.

I'm here Binger-baby! Just being a spectator...Nothing witty or exciting to say...So rather than prove how foolish I can be, I stay silent and let folks guess...

Glad to see you post though Bing cause the tonado damage looks really bad...Those things are so scary...I've only seen one once...while driving in Oklahoma...It was miles away and yet terrifying...I had a mark on that car's door from an actual tumbleweed that blew across the highway...Cool to talk about after but a really terrifying night...In fact, the hotel that we stayed in that night was destroyed in another tornado many years later...Not that I'm one of those guys who'd say "I was almost killed" and the thing happend years later...Just gave me a pause...It ain't all Miss Gulch and trips to Oz...that's for sure...

Thanks for looking for me Bing!

You are correct, Dom. The one half milestone marker is just ahead. A mere 2 weeks from tomorrow to be exact.
No! That just can't be possible (can it?)

A chilly 44 outside as we move on into the last day of April.
Wow, the year is racing by. A third of it nearly gone already!

Have a Wonderful Wednesday, guys.
And remember, Holiday (and everyone else, too) from the peak of the week, you can see all the way to the weekend.

I had shorts on yesterday and today well it's time to pull out the snow clothers again. Argh! Hope everyone enjoys their day! The weekend is almost here...yay!

OMG! I'd better stop sleeping with that teddy bear - that could be embarrasing!
On the other hand, it means you also saw Binger sneak into my place to take the sweater. Actually, that doesn't bother me so much as them also helping themselves to my favorite feather pillow.
(Could it be that Bing is also a secret sleeper? Or did they just want the case to carry coffee beans in? Take a look with the new software, Jay, and give us a report.)

And Jay, speaking of the 1,000 post mark, I see you are pretty close yourself!
And still speaking of milestones, the 1/2 Season marker is one week from today. Then, less than a month after that, the 200-day Christmas Day marker!
Aw, heck. Since we are on the subject, just look how close we are to exceeding our thread post total for last year!
Wow! All these milestones are making me dizzy!

Jackie Gleason also had one of the nicest orchestras, too.
Much along the lines of Percy Faith. I believe he did a Christmas Album too, but I don't have it. Have lots of his other stuff.
In fact, our mall was playing some of his music just this week when I was out there. Came as a pleasant surprise after an endless parade of rock.

Good morning Christmas gang! Guess what???? It's FRIDAY!!! :D

Anybody have big plans for the weekend? We are having our annual derby days party at the lake (hat judging contest included) & after the derby we have a Cinco De Mayo Mexican Fiesta!! Everybody brings a Mexican dish (my favorite!!!) & we have a big ol party. Sunday I have my nieces baby shower. Sounds like it's supposed to rain tomorrow morning, but hopefully it gets it out of it's system quick & we can have a nice weekend!! It's storming now! We haven't had a thunderstorm in a long time!! Well, I hope everyone has a Wonderous Weekend and keeps that Christmas song in their hearts.

May your wigs sit straight on your heads.
May your coffee beans be robust.

Yes, that was sad. I was watching the Derby with my father and 15-year-old niece. We did not see Eight Bells fall, which actually occurred after the race was over. After the announcement was made the horse was euthanized, my niece was upset - "You mean they KILLED it?". We had to explain the process.

On with the count:

Days to the Season: 193
Days to Christmas Day: 235
We continue to move on toward two milestones: The one half mark and the post that will put us past our 2007 total, now less than 20 away!
That momentous mark should be reached later today or tomorrow.
(Who will have the honor?? Stay tuned to find out. Perhaps it will be you!)

The pollen continues to fall but is on the decline.

Binger, like Crown has admitted to being neither male, nor female...Sort of the allure...I have my guesses about both but occasionally they will post something and completely change my thoughts on who they are...Right now...I believe them to be Super Heroes down at the Hall of Justice, watching over us with weapons at the ready to protect us whenever the need arrises...It's just that I can't seem to figure out whether they are Batman, Superman, or Wonder Woman...:snowball:

I still sick after watching the Kentucky Derby. My horse, "Eight Bells" the only filly in the race, that I hoped to win, fell and broke both of her ankles and I think they had to put her down. Shi*T!!! I feel so bad right now...She tried SO HARD...she came in second..which in the Kentucky Derby..that's amazing! But the girl collapsed because of the strain and it's so sad..so sad. ...Just wanted to tell you, my friends...I feel really bad right now. She was only three years old. Horses are fragile. Those legs are strong but fragile.

Oh Cedar...I could hardly stand to watch that! I HATE that! So sad! :(

Oh boy ~ can we not edit our posts anymore??? I could be in trouble! ;-) I'll have to read up on the new changes a little more!

I hope you all had a great weekend! I can't believe it's Sunday night already again! Where does the time from Friday at 4:30 to Sunday night go? The weather was pretty nice this weekend. Except for Saturday night got down right ugly out ~ I have never seen/heard/felt wind like that at the lake before! It was nuts! But we were troopers, outside in our jackets, blankets, & gloves eating Mexican food & drinking margarita's & celebrating Cinco De Mayo! Today was beautiful though...I hate to see good days like today come to an end!

Have a great night!!!

I have just made a chocolate cake. Trust me, this is worth the announcement - I don't do domestic!! It's Bruce's 17th birthday today and the last time I made him a chocolate cake, he refused to eat it on the grounds that "it was covered in mud" Nice child. The fact I'd decorated it in Smarties obviously didn't fool him.

We have gone chocolate again and it doesn't look too bad. Not entirely sure how I'm supposed to get it off the breadboard I iced it on without wearing the darn thing but I'm sure I'll be hit with a blinding revelation at 2am after I've mangled the cake and me, in the process.

If you're thinking I was diligent by getting up and starting my re-arranging furniture, cleaning, etc. - you're waaaaaaaaaay off.

I had two naps so far. One at 5:30 this morning, the other just an hour ago.

I'm still in my loungewear. Love it!
Alright, Auntie! Singin' my song!
(Next step - pour that coffee down the drain and stock up on tea!)

Good Morning, class!

Good Morning Friends. 38 and over cast this morning. It rained like crazy last night. Suppose to be in the upper 50's today. I hope we are not in for more rain. Or there won't be any rodeo going on this evening. I am headed off to a Estate Sale later this morning. I am hoping to find some more Christmas "goodies". Not that I need them but some habits are hard to break=)
Later this afternoon I will attend my friends baby shower. She is having a little boy due later this month. I got a few things for the new one coming soon. One thing in particular is this black little onsie. It has a picture of two guitars (kinda in a v shape) and between the 2 guitars is a potty chair. The top reads I wanna rock and roll all night (and the bottom says) and Potty everyday. Thought it cute! I think the parents will dig it! Anyhow...Have a good day gang. And thanks MMD for your help with the pic. posting for the albums. I finally figured it all out. Now if only someone will approve it. =)

:hello: Now that you mention it ... the Friday before last I was out for lunch and I had a pot of tea instead of coffee.

I don't know what's happening - guess you're rubbing off on me. HaHa.

And I managed to get my housework done this morning before lunch.

Off to have a wee nap and dream about Christmas.

Enjoy that baby shower, Annette - I love babies and shopping for them is nearly as much fun as shopping for Christmas gifts.

~Good Morning Dear Friends!

I'm here Crownster. We had to take an emergency trip to Vermont last week and got home yesterday afternoon. David's father had a stroke, he is 84 years old...at that age, you think, "This could be it". But lucky for us, when we got to the hospital, he was sitting up in bed joking with the nurses. "Bud" was sent home while we were there and other family members were there to help...although, at some point, I think family members actually hinder the recovery...too kindness all at once!
OMG, I could have kissed the ground when we pulled in our driveway. So great to come home. To be home! And BIX...I missed him most of all!
So, I think I set a personal record yesterday; I went to bed at 7pm. Ohhh, my OWN bed, my OWN pillows..man, it's good to be home!!! I think I might be looking at 2 days solid on the John Deere tractor...the grass is knee-high!

I missed all of my Nutter Butters and am happy to be back. Thanks to all my friends in Christmas land!! I managed to buy a couple Christmas presents while in Vermont.

The reason for me asking came in the form of 6 migrant workers (we get a lot each year for berry-picking) walking down the street and heading into the supermarket all sporting the latest in natty Santa hats!!

Just because it's May 15th here doesn't necessarily mean it isn't Christmas somewhere else - I'm all for equal opportunity holidays!!!!!!

I know that historians surmise that Jesus was actually born in the spring...Perhaps the berry pickers know something we don't!!!

Good Morning Friends. A beautiful day here today with temps. going into the 80's. Will be a busy weekend here starting this evening. My dads old army buddy from back in the day who is now deceased...his wife is coming from Washington State for a visit. It's been a few years since I have seen her so I am looking forward to a nice visit. Tomorrow at the school Larissa will be attending the "Bicycle Rodeo". It's where they get together with professionals to learn the safety rules of riding their bikes. Should be a fun day for her. After her safety class they will have lunch in the park and then go for a bike ride. Sunday I plan to take her to the fairgrounds for a Circus that will be in town. Should be a nice time for all these events...the weather is suppose to be really nice. I hope everyone has a great day!

After suffering through years of his wife's awful coffee, a man took the coffee maker to his lawyer.
Dropping it on the attorney's desk, the man growled, "Here they are!"
"Here are what?" the startled lawyer asked.
Replied the man, "Grounds for divorce."

Life is good...REALLY rainy but my lawn has never looked so good...Looking forward to the weekend although I found out a short time ago that my Father-in-law is in the hospital so I'm sure we'll be there with him for some of it...Doesn't sound serious so that's a relief...

Time is certainly flying...

I think I got this one Christmas...I remember that cover. I loved comic books. Still do! My parents tried to get me to read real books, but I loved the graphics and quick read of a comic book!!

JayIsh

Oooh!!! Yeah!!! Are they comic books per se or regular books with pictures??? Sounds very interesting...I've always had an idea for a comic book about a Christmas Super Hero of some sort...Never fleshed it out though...

Nope this is the real deal. This guy is GREAT. I've very excited to see this added but I can't say too much yet because we don't have all the details worked out. But it's going to be VERY cool.

Outtasight!! I love comics! Christmas comics!! Think of all the material you could get from just this forum alone! Hey, I can do caricatures...really! I sat at a mall once, in Oregon, charged $5 a person and made money to pay the rent!! (of course, rent was only $85 a month back then...)
