Hi everyone
Does it always get quieter on the forums this time of year or is everyone recovering from their New Years Eve party??
I was thinking of new ideas for threads but so far ive drawn a blank!!!

Actually, they put in a window across the street and left empty and broken bottles everywhere but were relatively quiet after midnight!!!!!!!!

it does seem quiet this year at least over at Christmas Talk. I did start a new thread there today. it was regarding Christmas villages.
Happy New Year everyone!!

Far from it - it's simply a case of someone buying a flat and within a month renting it out to people they know nothing about. The original tenant has sub-let the place and it's a nightmare. We're in a really nice part of town which is making it all the harder to deal with:-?

Do you know the owner? Perhaps you could tell them what the occupants are like.

We have, as have the other neighbours. Apparently the lease is under review - or rather WAS at the end of December. The woman that owns it "appreciated all the information and would make her decision"
Watch this space!!!!

If you care to join me in the music room, there is a thread called Week Link - Yule Audio Year 'Round. At least one a week, a link will be shared which will allow one to build a Christmas music collection to start the Christmas 2008 Season out right!

As a veteran of a variety of Christmas websites, it's all cyclical.
Around mid-January to early February the Christmas diehards come here in force, and pretty much stay until fall.
Around back-to-school time the site starts to pick up traffic as regulars become more chatty about their plans and new folks surf in and sign up.
Then, for some reason after Thanksgiving you start to lose some of the regulars. Personally I think that it's simply Christmas nuts who are having too much fun DOING Christmas in the real world that they don't have as much time to get online. At least that was my case, since I had to keep a constant eye on my outdoor display. There is also a crush of new lurkers during this time.
Once Christmas nuts have shaken their eggnog comas, and put away all of their decorations, they will start drifting back here to plan for the next season.
Right now it seems slow because we just came off a period of more new posts per day than a working person can keep up with. But as most of us head back to work the traffic will soon settle into it's comfortable routine.
Those are just my observations. I would be interested to know if Jeff's numbers fit this theory.

Kind of -- January is typically one of our higher traffic months of the year, actually. Just not particularly active on the forums. I think we still have lots of people on vacation during the weeks of Christmas and New Years -- we'll enjoy a little traffic surge next week as folks get back to work.
We bottom out in March and April. Then the slow build begins again.
But yes, we are a seasonal venue.
Personally, I love when we head into the "slow" season. That's when the real Christmas die hards are around. We're a small but merry group and I love it.
