If this topic has been posted before, i do apologise.
If it has lets kick off a new one for 2008!!:)
My main interest at the moment is collecting Barbie Dolls, especially the Fashion Fever dolls. I started to collect them again after my daughter received a 'my first Barbie' as a gift and it has taken off from there. I now have nearly 40 dolls, a few of them are collectable ones I purchased from Ebay and recently I found out that TKMAXX has been selling Barbies imported from America at very reasonable prices. I'm lucky to live within a ten minute walk to TKMAXX so it has become something like a treasure hunt for me, I've found some amazing dolls.

How do you collect christmas music?
Thanks for asking, kelly ann! All during the year I visit pawn shops, thrift stores, used music stores and tag/yard sales looking for CDs, especially Christmas ones. My favorite place to look is in pawn shops because I never know what I might find.
The Christmas CD collection is approaching 300. I prefer the more obscure tunes because one can always hear the so called classics and traditional Christmas musical fare on the radio in season and on internet stations year 'round. When was the last time you heard "Cool Yule" by Donnie Burns?......I thought so!
Plus, I look on the internet for sources to purchase or download (legally) Christmas radio programming, podcasts, and vintage music from sharity sites. I've started a thread in the music forum us to share sources available all year or for a limited time.
This past season alone, I probably recorded and downloaded over a hundred hours worth of Christmas music programming.

:rudolph:I collect carousel horses. I have them displayed in a cherry wood curio cabinet in my living room. AS of now, I have 30 carousels. It's a beautiful collection, all different sizes and colors. I also have several carousel christmas ornaments.
Speaking of carousels, I have a very special story to tell. On Janurary 21st of this year, it willl be 9 years ago that my husband gave me my engagement ring. He brought me to a carousel museum here in CT and while we were riding on the merry go round, he gave me my ring! I couldn't believe something so romantic was happening to me. I felt like I was reading about it in a book, or watching it on a soap opera on TV.

Wow! And I thought I had a lot with my 125 cds. I have over 100 Christmas albums, also. A friend just recorded about 12 of them onto cd for me. All of my Christmas music is loaded onto my computer. A Christmas song (or any other song I have) is just a click away! I LOVE it!
I also collect teddy bears. I have over 800 of those. I bought my newest last night at Kroger's. It's one of those snow globe types. I got it for 90% off. I just couldn't resist! :rudolph:

That's right...also if you don't have an adaptor to hook the phone to the computer then just take a pic. with your phone and send to your email address. From there you can save, send, file and add pictures to this website.

And my boss gives me a painted ostrich egg every year for christmas so I have a collection of those without having asked for it :-)

Wow...awesome Kerst. I also collect ornaments. We need to chit chat sometime...maybe even trade. I have some I don't use and also 2 of the same thing. I also think I have enough for 2 large trees. And all my mini trees I put out too. I guess I will know for sure this year because I scored and bought another 6-6 1/2 ft. tree from the local thrift store after Christmas last year. Got it for few bucks. Gotta love a bargain. And of course I am on the hunt all year long for new ornaments. =)

Thanks Annette!! Ive seen these dolls on ebay and they fetch a lot more than Ģ32 or $65 in your money. They look exactly like Elvis and Priscilla don't they?
The dolls are so much cheaper in America. Ive tried joining the Barbie fan club but its for American only, they offer great deals on dolls too.
So far my collection is well over a hundred dolls. I bought another yesterday from TK Maxx , an Irish Dancer Barbie. Tk Maxx is great for finding Barbie collectors editions which we wouldn't normally find in the shops over here.
Ill make a photo album on here soon to show you my collection.:)

I collect blown glass animals and other blown glass type items..,
In the early 90's, I worked with a young guy whose mother workeed at the Oglebay Park (in Wheeling, WV) glass house and every year for Christmas, he gave me one-of-a-kind blown glass tree ornaments, hand painted with images of The Grinch, Stimpy (from Ren & Stimpy) and Powdered Toast Man (from Ren & Stimpy)... I treasure these irreplaceable gems in my Christmas collection...

I used to collect CD's and music, sort of lol. I think I have about 2000 CD's, both in standard CD's and MP3 complete albums.
I've started to pick up on shot glasses, but I slacked off on my last vacation. There were a ton I wanted, but had no place to put them that they wouldn't get crushed.
I collect architecture books as well, mostly Frank Lloyd Wright and pre-70's railroad, and some museum structures.
And lastly, I collect anything to do with trains and the railroad, as well as HO scale model railroad items.
When I'm in the financial position, I'll begin collecting project cars. Most of the cars I like though are nothing special, just ones I really like. But there are just as many classics that I'd like to build as well.
